Hair volume help

I have long thick hair but it is always flat. I've been blow drying it with a round brush and also I have been putting mousse in the roots to give it volume but it's always flat within a couple hours. Does anyone have any tips. I've tried back combing, hairspray. Non of this works. Thanks x

My hair was like this,until I used a certain shampoo. Lush has a shampoo called Big for volume and it's brilliant! I got a sample and it lasted me a week < now that shows how much it works and how much it's worth it! It works so good that even with a tiny splodge it works! My friends noticed a difference an they never compliment me hah.
