Well if it is burning, I feel it isn't good. I would stop using it.

It did that to me too. Cetaphil didn't but I disliked it anyway. Neither of them cleared my skin up at all. I stopped using it, and started using Formula 10.0.6 Best Face Forward face wash.

Stop using it. Something in it is irritating your skin and that's the reaction.

Wow really? Sounds like an allergic reaction. I love cerave but never had that issue, so definitely stop using it! I would try something else

Cerave is non irritating and non commedogenic, so it won't break you out either. It's your skin. It's dry and flaky and you've been itching in IM SURE. You said yourself that your skin was dry, flaky and irritated before you put it on, so ANYTHING you put on it is going to burn. Cerave is AMAZING, give your skin time to heal and you'll see.

My skin wasn't like that, and it still burned me. All of those supposed gentle, and wondeful cleansers did not clean, nor sooth my skin, but rather burned and didn't work. Just because it is "non irritating" does not mean its not going to irritate some people's skin. I tried them all for extended periods of time, as well as after breaks and when my skin was in different states and the results were all the same. Cerave was worse for me than Cetaphil, but both were bad.

Whitney, seriously your advice is to keep using a cream that is burning her face yikes.

I literallly have the most sensitive skin in the world. My physician recommend Cerave and I used it but it burned. Wait out 2 months and my skin still burned so I saw a dermatologist (again!) and she recommend Vanicream. I use the facial bar soap and moisturizing cream. It is the best thing I have ever done for my skin.

Also I'm allergic to cetaphil so I can't recommend that but the cream Jacqlyn is very nice but I still prefer Vanicream.

There can be ingredients in any product that people are allergic to like I can't use something as simple as a olive oil mask it burns and makes me ich because I'm allergic to avocado and that's in it ,if anything is really irritating your skin stop using it certain things are supposed to tingle like glycolic or sometimes retinol but a gentle cleanser or moisturizer should not be ,so there is something in it that's not agreeing with your skin or your skin may be wind burned and very dry and irritated from the weather and your skin barrier has been compromised so its burning and the first aid repair cream Jacqlyn mentioned is for very sensitive damaged skin so it may help you a lot.

Just because a product says it non irritating doesn't mean squat. Its all marketing talk to entice the consumer to purchase giving them the impression that the product is safe. Traci said it best. Not all skin is alike and what may not irritate you could irritate someone elses skin. I'm allergic to a common preservative that is found in many skincare items. If my skin is exposed to too much of it my skin turns into one big welt.
