Hi guys! I wanted to know your thoughts on uniforms or if you wear one and like it or not! Post pictures of your school uniforms (that is, if you are in school)

I think Uniforms have pros and cons,

Pro. They give students a sense of belonging, and you can't be teased about what you wear really. Unlike free dress schools, wear you can be picked on for what you wear.

Con. They can get boring and you can't really dress up for a guy (or girl, depending on your preferences) if you like to do that and you can't really show off who you are and express individuality amkng peers

I disagree with your pro I used to wear uniforms in middle school and kids would still get teased about their shoes, wrinkled or dirty looking clothes. kids are just mean sometimes and they'll find a reason to tease someone. I used to dress up my uniform by the shoes, belts, bows, headbands etc... that I wore. I'm in highschool now and don't wear uniforms but kids still get teased for the same reasons as in middle school.

^ a pro should be like you don't have to think of what your going to wear.

Some of the girls at my school just get their so called friends calling them sluts behind their backs because they roll their skirt up so their ass is hanging out (keep in my our skirt is knee length) but you probably would get teased more with the fact you have a different taste in fashion, and like you said, old looking clothes, wrinkles ect.

I came from a very strict school and I wouldn't change it. The uniform policy was the strictest in the state including bra colours. It was hard at the time but after graduating so many doors opened up for me because of the reputation of the school. I'm 19 and work ins big office in the city and study at the same tim and I thank the schools reputation for getting me such a great job opening! 😄

I go to a public school in Australia. Our uniform consists of a cotton blouse with thin blue stripes, a breast pocket and womens tie, with a long navy skirt and leather shoes. Our sports uniform is a blue, navy and white jersey with netball skorts for the girls and sports shoes. We are only allowed the school brand jackets and hats. Our jewellery code is 2 small thin rings, one plain bangle, max 2 piercings in each ear, 1 nose stud and no visible body or facial piercings. Neutral makeup and nails and no mascara since these girls have a tendency to make spider lashes.

Lorna G. I think having a strict uniform can be beneficial, since you will have more pride in your clothing choices and that can open a lot of doors depending how you present yourself.

I had to wear a uniform from elementary to middle school...we have a dress code in high school but we're allowed to wear what we want as long as it follows the dress code. pros to uniforms are that you already know what to wear the next morning, getting ready doesn't take as long. It is impossible to violate dress code because it's hard to find revealing uniforms!
cons- no one is equal. we were allowed to wear khakis in the form of shorts, skirts, skinny jeans...basically as long as it was a khaki bottom. and people do get picked on because they may not have the coolest shoes or hair. You get judged for what your hair looks like, your makeup, even if you don't wear makeup you're judged.

In high school we wore uniform because gang banging was so bad.. I never honored it... I always wore a color shirt under my white shirt.. smh I was bad.

I would want uniforms. I don't wear uniforms, we have a pretty average dress code, no shoulders showing at all, no flip flops, finger tip length, so on. But I think the chances of being bullied because of your uniform is way less than because of your clothes. I mean people have wrinkled clothes and old shoes without uniforms too. I would love having uniforms it would be so easy and save so much money. Cons is individuality but I don't think its a big deal in school

There is pros and cons. I know from experience. I've moved school so many times
Pros - get along more, don't have to worry about what you are were. A study has shown it makes kids more creative with like art and stuff.

Cons- it cost more money since you have to get clothes for outside of school too. They get boring after a while.

I used to wear uniforms and frankly it made getting ready for school so easy. Lol but I was younger so I didn't care.

I wore uniforms throughout elementary and middle school. The policy was relaxed, khaki or navy pants/skirt/shorts and a white or navy polo/button down.
I'm currently in high school and we don't wear uniforms, but sometimes I wish we did.
Our dress code has a lot of rules that aren't enforced (no open toe, no rips in jeans, no leggings..) While I love wearing my leggings and hoodies to school, sometimes it would just be easier to put on a uniform in the morning. The only real con I can think of for uniforms is being uncomfortable and the added cost to buy these clothes. I don't think public schools should require uniforms at all though, some families can barely afford to pay their rent, let alone have to buy their child uniforms for school.

Well in my school you only have to wear blazers (they can be black or plaid) but I never wear them. But I am going to gymnasium next year and I know that I would have to wear uniforms in almost every school. And even wear skirts during the winter! And know it is -18 C so that is bad :(. It is too cold to wear uniforms.

I don't have to wear a uniform but I feel like if everyone had to wear a uniform you could still get bullied by the bullies because the bullies will always be able to find something to pick at you since they need to put somebody down to feel better about themselves

I have a uniform for school and to be honest, I actually really like it. I don't have to worry about what I'm going to wear because I can just throw on my uniform and go. My uniform is nice because you can wear whatever shoes you want and can wear a plain sweater over your shirt. I know a lot of people think that uniforms limit a person's style, but I personally think it's a lot easier and less stressful to not have to worry about what to wear. :)

I'm at a secondary school in the UK, and it's statutory for every school to have a uniform here. Mine consists of a grey pleated skirt, which comes down to just above the knee (although people roll them up so much you can see their arse, no I'm not exaggerating), a white shirt, a navy blue v-neck jumper with the school crest, black/grey/tan tights and black leather shoes. We can wear jewellery, however it's one stud per ear and no bracelets, rings or necklaces however we all don't follow this rule.
I believe uniform is a good thing as it means everyone is the same, therefore you feel you all belong to one community and you're a school family, however I hate not being able to show who I am through it, although on snow days I wear my Docs haha:) and on the upside everyone looks crap in uniform so no-one tries to look good haha:)

I am so glad I don't have to wear uniform. I wear whatever I want and I love it (:
