What is a good DIY method to help my lashes grow??

LOL I have this sort of out laddish thing that I do. I get hair spray. Lightly spray it on my mascara wand then there is a instant extender. To make your lashes fuller just regularly apply mascara then do that little trick. But becareful because it can get sticky.

I've heard different things ranging from Chapstick, castor oil, olive oil, petroleum ( heard that ones kinda bad for the lashes) Vaseline (that one too). I would recommend a lash growing treatment. :/

A lot of people told me to use petroleum jelly so I doubt it's bad... I mean I tried it and it really does help. (:

None of these things will make your lashes grow. Literally none. They can make them appear to grow, but the length of your lashes is genetically determined. The most any of that will do is condition your lashes (which isn't bad, they can break just like the rest of your hair).
That being said, DO NOT use Vaseline on your lashes. It is a sealer, not a moisturizer, so not only will it not moisturize your lashes, it will seal the glands on your eyes. Doing so makes your eyes much more prone to bacterial infections and complications. Not worth it. Vaseline is absolutely terrible for your eyes no matter what anyone says.
Finally, the only thing that will make your lashes actually grow is Latisse.

Latisse? Where can I get it and how much does it cost. Do you have any more information about it?
Jan 4, 2014
Hannah K.
You can google Latisse, it's an FDA approved lash growth serum. What I know is that it makes your lashes grow but it can also give you dark spots on your lashes and change the colors of your eyes in really rare cases, which is why it doesn't appeal to me personally. However, like I said, that is very rare, and googling it will give you more information about it than I could.

So is using Moroccan oil bad for eye lashes? Does it clog pores too?
Jan 4, 2014
Hannah K.
I'm not sure, but it seems to me that most of the Moroccan Oil brand is formulated for your hair, and therefore wouldn't be great to use on your face. If you feel that you really must use oil, try coconut, castor, olive etc. the types that you can find in virgin and extra virgin form at supermarkets.

Okay! Thanks I'll look for coconut oil now:)

I've heard applying vaseline to your lashes and eyeline everynight can help grow them.
