I have found the scar cream, Mederma to work very well on acne scarring on my face. My skin is in full recovery after several months of dedicated use and you can see the scars gets less and less deep. As for the hyperpigmentation (the dark discoloration left by the scars), I have found that Pond's Dark Spot Correcting Cream is the best for me!

I like Garnier's dark spot corrector. It's got vitamin c which helps break down dark pigments to lighten them. It worked so well for me. It also helps with breakouts, for me at least everyone is different, because of the vitamin c. You could also get a product with alpha hydroxy acids. They're basically fruit derived exfoliates and they also can help break down dark pigment and they keep the skin exfoliated. I'd go for a moisturizer that has them in it. That's sort of the route I used it with, but it was a body butter, so sadly I can't recommend a facial product but I didn't have any irritation when it was in with a moisturizer. I have all kinds of bug bite scars on my legs and the body butter with them in it helped lighten them a lot. But whatever method you choose, wear sunscreen!! Sunlight can darken scarring and make it more stubborn to get rid of, and AHAs can make the skin more prone to get sunburnt so SPF is especially important for people with scarring. Both my primer and my day time moisturizer have SPF in them.

The Ponds cream mentioned is also nice too. I've used that as well and I liked it. Their stuff is fragranced thought so be cautious if you're sensitive. It's not too bad though, not overpowering. I think it smells quite good actually

I've recommended this like 100 times on this site hahaha but red light therapy is absolutely amazing.Red light is the highest visible light ray, it accelerates the skins healing by penetrating the bottom of the skins dermis layer and stimulating the production of collagen and elastin proteins. It increases the skins metabolism of healthy oxygen and nutritional molecules. It's great for anti aging and skin rejuvenation, and also helps in fading sun spots and hyper pigmentation by stimulating the skins cells vitality and permeability. Red light is like a non invasive, non surgical Botox ;)
It helps the ski maintain the elasticity and firmness while refining it's texture and smoothing lines and wrinkles. It firms, tones, and increases skins elasticity, minimizes wrinkles, deep furrows, crows feet, fine lines, improves skin tone, and restores skin clarity, improves acne prone skin by killing bacteria, helps irregular pigmentation, reduces age spots or sun spots, minimizes pores and stimulates skin cell metabolic functions.
