Hey hun are you exfoliating? the retinol makes your cell turnover speed up but it doesn't remove the dead skin from your face so once or twice a week you may want to exfoliate with something gentle and neutrogena oil free spf works good for acne prone skin and its uva and uvb so its a good sun block ,just use your thicker cream at night.

And breaking out around the jawline is hormonal but you can try to add fish oil pills or flaxseed pills if your allergic to fish to your diet it really helps with inflammation

Wow traci your so informative bless you that's brill I was to sure if to exfoliate with it being quite harsh and my skin being prone to breakouts whenever the wind changes it seems, I will try the moisturiser and definatly fish oil if it will help :) thank you Hun

You can exfoliate but start doing it once a week and try using a soft facial brush because you sound like your skin is still very sensitive from the retinol and you shouldn't use anything that might burn or or irritate your skin so a gentle brush or if you have a clarisonic will remove the dead skin without adding any harsh ingredients.

That's brill yes quite sensitive skin always have and have struggles with finding the right products as I seem to change daily, retinol has been a god send apart from the flaking but I new that would happen it's my lack of knowing what to do with it that was the problem, thank you Hun

Traci L - will flaxseed oil help with acne or only hormonal? I get them different spots on my face, I'm thinking it's not hormonal?

It just helps with inflammation hun and that's one of the factors of acne along with genetics, bacteria, and a few other factors its not going to just cure acne but it does aid in keeping down flare ups plus there are a long list of other benefits
