Agreed, you don't need to grind it into your skin. The gentlest pressure is all you need. I don't charge mine until it dies though. It seems to hold a pretty long battery life so I don't have to charge it often. I have also heard that taking your makeup off with it isn't great because it can push stuff down deeper. I'm not sure how true that is, but regardless I find it works more effectively if you sort of pre-cleanse the skin anyway. I just take some cleanser or some of the makeup remover I may have left on my hands and rub it onto my skin so the Clarisonic isn't responsible for doing ALL the work. I just find it jump starts the cleansing and helps if I've already kind of got a lather going. Also make sure to clean your brush once a week at bare minimum. I just use antibacterial soap and let it dry overnight. Always change the brushes every 3 months like they suggest. They can get pretty ratty after a while and 3 months is usually all they can stand. Anything over that and they become kind of rough and scratchy which is obviously not something you want on your face.
My only other advice is about the purging period. It may happen, it may not. The Clarisonic is a device that's deep cleaning the skin, so its drawing out all kinds of oil, dead skin cells and bacteria that have potential to break you out, or break you out more if you are already acne prone. BUT it should go away in a few days. Make sure you have the right brush head as well. It shouldn't make your skin hurt or irritate it. It comes with the sensitive skin brush which is soft but they have even softer options like the acne brush and the delicate brush. Basically it's a learning curve. You sort of just have to figure out what works best for your skin particularly. Some people can use it every day, some twice a day, etc. I hope all of this makes sense, I feel like I'm rambling now lol.

Don't use it every night and if you have sensitive skin or acne make sure to get the appropriate head or it will do more harm then good

Just what every one said about being gentle and I only use mine at night time. I remove makeup first and then use it

I usually take my make up completely off first with my eye make yo remover and a make up removed towelette.. then I use purity cleanser on my clarisonic that you can get at sephora.. it was recently viewed as the #1 best cleanser, mine goes on for a minute and I usually do 10 seconds on both my cheeks and my nose and mouth area and 20 on my forehead. after I cleanse my face I exfoliate 2x's a week at least.

If you're going to buy a non-clearisonic face wash brand make sure it doesn't have any abrasives in it. (mostly exfoliators) It can dull the brush faster and ruin the device all together. Sometimes I use clearasil pomegranate daily face wash with mine in the shower. I absolutely love mine and use it everyday!
