How long since anyone has died their hair and how long do you wait before you redye? I haven't dyed my hair in a year, and contemplating weather to dye it or not.

I dyed in November it came our terrible and now I'm about to redye in about week, but it's so necessary, if it didn't look so bad I might have waited a little longer.

Are you doing it at home or professionally? The only problem with at home is the ammonia content in box dyes, it really takes a toll on your hair. And naturally, you put it all over your hair, which really strips it when it's already had color. So depending on how different the color is from your natural, is how you should decide. Now if you do it professionally, the benefit is they have your color formula and can go back and put the new color only on your new growth, which helps keep from compromising your ends like the box dye does.

Depositing color doesn't damage your hair if youre doing it the right way. you can color your hair once a week.

Oh my hair was dyed black and it fade to my natural color and I had red under neath so you can't see the new growth of tht at all. The black is back to my natural color.
