(I'm on my phone so it's easier for me to just write a paragraph)

My definition of Make Up Artistry is the field of cosmetics in relation to the application of cosmetics in a way that its compliments, contrasts, and corrects. The MU industry is a community of professionally trained/self taught working individuals that involves artists, distributors, innovators, beauty companies, etc.

4. A Makeup Artist is someone who makes a living doing makeup professionally. These individuals should be trained in skin types, skin care, makeup formulation, safety & sanitation, techniques, business, etc.

Company reps vary in experience level. Avon individuals reps can sell products without ever having to educate the clients on product and how to use it. It depends on what kind of makeup artist you are but if you work as a counter makeup artist you will have to educate your customers on how to use products and if you do print work, you just have to know how to use the products and have creativity.

With technology and the Internet, everyone claims to be a makeup artist now. "Gurus" are great to watch because a lot of them are extremely creative and do great work on themselves and they teach other people as well but it definitely takes away from those who have actually went to school and gotten certified in some way. I think makeup is a fun, exciting, and makes a lot of people feel good about themselves so it is never going to go away. The industry will have to keep raising their standards and be innovators to keep the bar high.

1.What is your definition of Make Up Artistry? Being able to achieve any look that the client desires.
2. What is your definition of The Make Up Industry? the makeup industry includes anything from bridal makeup to movie makeup and anything in between
3.What is your definition of A Make Up Artist? A person who makes their living by doing makeup. Someone who does makeup but does it on the side I'd consider a hobbyist.
4.What makes The Industry different now than it was a decade ago? The ability to get inspiration, information, and the ability to network online.
5.What separates professional make up artistry from Company reps ie. Avon? Quality and purpose of each product.
6. What do you think the future of the Cosmetic and beauty Industry lies in ? I'm not sure what this question is asking

For me I've been doing makeup for 20 years wow long time I started young well I can say the industry has changed a lot due to social media such YouTube and so on.I feel the art has it's pros and cons, the art has some what lost it's real talents in the mist of it all, everyone claims to be a artist because they like eyeshadow,I believe it's worth more then that it takes skills and patience.I think the makeup looks are repetitive the same things over and over everything is over clouded with must haves and this is the In thing because people trust the so called Guru's but have to say with that the marketing for makeup has went up everything cost more.I just remember when you didn't NEED face primers or eye primers and such, you had that talent to make it happen.Fresh minds, practice, every skill you learned because it was raw it was what you took seriously not because you were hooked to the main steam of it all.I guess I'm old school I miss a lot of looks that aren't featured as much anymore I use to love looking at magazines as a teen and study how Cindy Crawford or Linda evangelista had the most amazing brows or eyeliner that looked so natural but yet it was the art of makeup, the person behind the brush that did that. It was fascinating to me.
