Yes, I understand what are you talking about. And I agree totaly. Makeup gives us confidence. When I wear makeup I truly feel beautiful. And always when I am without it and start to lose that confidence I remember that I am still one Eloise who was watching herself in the mirror and thought '' Yeah I look beautiful.'' Makeup is there to give us confidence and to make us see that we are really beautiful.

You should use make up to emphasize your beauty Not to hide you purportedly blemishes. It's a thing of Self confidence Not about how much make up you wear.

I don't think the after picture is quite beautiful, or pretty, or decent.
Why?
As a graphic artist, believe me when I say I see beyond what people see, I mean it.
If this was a graphics forums, people would say whatever program that is - it's horrible at editing lol. It's all blurred out, no human being... not even an edited model would appear like that. So what do I see when I look at this?
Horribly pasted hair, altered eye shape, eye color, eye make up, altered lips, absolutely no neck, way too much blurring, there's not even shadows from her hair ( The shadow appearing on her hair is not how a shadow should look ), there's no facial depth ( eyes are not flat, neither are cheek bones, and our face in general ) I mean it just lacks structure in general.
And if that is the definition of beauty by hollywood means, I really DON't want to look anything like that. I prefer my facial structure, my fine lines, my blemishes, my uneven eye lid, and all my flaws and beauty 'imperfections' we try to erase, yet we don't realize that without all these little 'imperfect' definitions that is what actually makes us look human, real, and beautiful.
That is a result of what we would all look like if we took away fine lines, facial structure, definition, color, and quite frankly we look much better with these Perfect Imperfections.
