I don't have a "contouring" powder but I have a matte bronzed that is more brown than orange can I use that as a contouring powder?

Yes. I use brown non shimmery eyeshadown to contour and concealer to high light and it comes out good.

Ok thanks and that's what I've been using and it looks great but a lot if people say it's a pet peeve when girls use bronzed to contour.

The reason people have a pet peeve about it is because it's not right. Bronzer is never going to look right. Contours are supposed to be grey toned, like shadows. It's offensive to MUAs (ask Jacqueline and Alma, seriously) because they spend so much time learning and working to perfect techniques like that with correct products and colors that when people flippantly say stuff like "bronzer is perfect for contour," it's like disregarding everything they've worked for.

Maria, it's literally their lives. It's not "just makeup." That's why they care.

I know that bronzer to contour with isn't the right product to use but I am looking for a good contour powder but in the mean time until I get one I was wondering if I could substitute it for this on the back it says bronzing powder and it's matte brown. And I understand how it would offend MUAs because it's not being used correctly trust me I want to be a pro at makeup but until I can get the right powder I still want to practice contouring but just using what I have

Of course, Jackie. I don't mean to be pushy towards those who do use bronzer, so my apologies to everyone on this thread if it came off that way, but Jacqueline made my point much more eloquently: bronzer won't give the desired effect as a contour. I guess I should work on my phrasing!

Are there any good low end cream products for contouring from the drugstore? Maybe something for highlighting too?
