I was looking through my hair portfolio and found a reverse ombré I did.

I used a combination of the teasing method and a little free hand.

If you have ever done one either on yourself or on a client please share your secrets! I never want to stop improving. 😘

I'm not a hairstylist, nor will I probably ever be, but my biggest pet peeve is when people call blonde dip dye ombré. Having done a lot of research, an ombré is a subtle gradient effect on the hair from its natural color to 1-3 shades lighter. Am I wrong? Please correct me if I am :) I think that subtle ombré is the prettiest. It gives that "I can't tell if that's her natural hair or if it's dyed" effect. I'm so sorry for taking this opportunity to rant about how no one knows what an ombré is really supposed to look like! But that's really pretty actually :) again I'm so sorry this is basically irrelevant.

That's why she said "reverse ombré"...the back combing technique is one of the best techniques to avoid blunt lines, I use the back combing technique and feather on the product just to get that perfect blend.

Lol it's perfectly fine.

It gets on my nerves too. I like the dramatic ones myself but all pay the bills so I won't complain.

Not what I meant. I understand the concept of reverse ombré, I wasn't commenting that she's wrong. I was commenting that there's a common misconception, hence my statement about it being a totally irrelevant rant.

I like to weave out small sections then back comb for a more subtle ombre that isn't solid blonde at the bottom! or even doing a full head of horizontal foils and leaving out the top section will give an ombre effect!

Allie that's an great job! I am almost done with hair school and have came across a lot and understand the concept of a gradual effect but some clients don't want it and like it more bold so that's what you got to do,make your client happy! Either way maybe you can give my your IG ,would love to see your work and we can follo eschother :)

Thanks so much!

I graduated on Halloween this past October. I know but it wouldn't be fun without clients! Plus, if your clients are happy you are too because the best advertisement is through word of mouth. C;

My IG is allisonspalace. It's not strictly hair and makeup but there still a lot of both.
