Did you buy pure virgin or extra virgin coconut oil? Where did you get it from? What does it say on the jar?

^ have you placed it in your hand. Mine melts like butter after a couple second being in my hand.

Try what Lynzie said, take a spoonful and put it in your hand. See if it melts. If it doesn't, check the ingredient list, and if that only says pure coconut oil, there's something wrong.

Mine is always hard this time of year just because it's cooler in the house. I keep a little in a small, old face cream jar that I can run under hot water for a little bit to help soften then melt the rest in my hand.

Put it in the microwave for about 15secs or so. It will melt. Mines is the same.

Mine is always solid in the winter. I live in Canada though so it's cold. Warm it up in the microwave or hold a small amount in a container above a boiling pot of water and it'll melt.

Virgin coconut oil will be solid, you can transfer the desired amount into another container and heat it.
