So this is the best pic I have to actually be able to show how my makeup settles in my pores I've tried goss the makeup artist advice on how to hide your pores and I used bare minerals prime time I think and I use revlon colorstay whipped and I'm getting so mad!! I can never find the right products for me!! And I really want to prove I am good at makeup but how can I say that if my pores ruin it!! And it just looks cakey all the time every foundation I use and every primer I use I have no holy grail products yet except for eye makeup ugh.

Honestly, the most important part of applying foundation is washing your face. I suggest trying a new face wash :)

Thank you and I have one of those brushes and will have to give it a try I've never used one before cause I heard people don't like them that much and is the liquid better than the whipped or can I still use my whipped?

I use clean and clear black head scrubbing wash I don't know if that's the brand I may have gotten it wrong but I don't know if it's any good I'm looking into buying cetaphil face cleanser and lotion.

Whipped usually tends to cake a little more than liquid, maybe try doing little layers of thin until you get to the coverage you want, and finding a good setting powder and setting spray always helps!

I am planning on buying a few high end brand foundations like jar Von d foundation and door skinflash foundation and also buying Dior skinflash cc primer

I've found that if you wait a while after applying your foundation (around 15-20 minutes) before setting it with powder, you won't get as much of a 'cakey' look. This allows the foundation to kind of meld with your skin so all your makeup isn't just sitting on top of your face like a mask. I also love using Benefit's Porefessional before applying foundation, you might want to try that. :)

I exfoliate 2-3 times/week, moisturize, use smashbox hydrating primer (amazing), then lancome teint miracle which I love. Also setting mists are really nice.

I find that primers never seem to help fill in my pores even if they claim to. Try checking out UD pore filling face primer, it works pretty well. Also my secret to hiding pores is that I buff the foundation is circular motions over my pores and it covers my pores instantly. I've never been able to cover my pores by using a brush, sponge, etc. but the buffing motion has always worked for me.

Maybe you should try a liquid or powder foundation because whipped fills and cakes more frequently.

How you apply your foundation is defiantly an important factor. I'd try and switch up your foundation brush maybe change to a stippling brush? Or try a new exfoliator?

Build your coverage instead of just putting on a very thick layer. That helps your skin breath so it makes it less obvious of your pores. Also, use a pore-filling primer like benefit's porefessional or pixi has a good one called flawless & poreless. Another factor is that you might be using the wrong kind of foundation in terms of your skincare needs. Oily skin tends to have bigger pores and using a foundation that "hydrates" can make you more oily throughout the day, causing your pores to expand and your foundation settles into your pores, causing cakiness.

Also, try using a charcoal mask two times a week all over the face and once more throughout the week over your problematic area. Charcoal masks, like the one from origins, tightens your pores while drawing out the debris filling it that's causing it to expand.

Thank you so much I've only tried a charcoal mask once lol.

I would try Benefit Porefessional, I have the same problem and so far Benefits has been the best. I would also try CeraVe over Cetaphil, I recently switched and I really like CeraVe so much better, I use the Hydrating Cleanser and the Moisturizing Lotion, they also have a cream that might be better since you're having this dryness settling problem. I also recommend finding the 'right' brush for applying foudation, I have been through countless brands and I am really loving the finish this brush from Sephora is giving me. I also agree with what someone else said about waiting a few minutes before applying a setting powder (I love Bare Minerals for a finishing powder, its really light and gives me a flawless finish, I like using elf's kabuki brush to apply; also Too Faced has a good setting powder, I prefer loose powders over pressed because I just love the way it goes over better). I have been using Clinique Even Better and I love it, but if you're skin tends to be oily then I do not recommend it! I bet Kat Von D's foundation will be good for you but I would try a sample first because it is very thick. I also really recommend a clarisonic, I makes my skin look so good, and if I don't use I can tell the difference! I know its expensive but it is amazing, I thought it was a stupid product when I first heard about them because of the price but it was worth every penny. Also Nyx has a Dewy setting spray that might help your foundation look flawless.

Thank you so much and actually I am getting a clarisonic very soon maybe in February and I'm getting multiple primers and foundations and face makeup of a brands from ulta and sephora to hopefully find my holy grail products, I was in a car accident so I get a settlement so I will be investing in high end brands and some luxury makeup too :) something out there has to be right for my skin and I'm about to change my cetephil to the cerave right now I'll get all three of the cerave products you mentioned and I'll look into that brush
