What are your opinions on wearing makeup to school??xoxo
Personally I think it should be kept to a minimum and should really only be worn by older pupils?? xoxo

I wore eyeliner, any color, starting in 7th grade or so. Once I hit high school, I did whatever I wanted. I wear bright, dark crazy colors because it's what I like. So personally, I think that if you feel like you can apply makeup correctly, then you're free to wear whatever it is you like.

People can do whatever they want. The only thing that should be restricting make up are the school rules and policies, not what other kids think.

Obviously schools have makeup rules and our school says it is allowed but no too dramatic, for jewelry the older pupils are allowed to wear more. But when I was 12 I wore foundation because I had really bad skin and if I was told I was not allowed it I would of felt super insecure so I don't agree with that.If I have extra time in the morning to get ready I'll try a different look out or sonething but I generally don't care because I dislike most people in my school and could not care less what they thought of me.

My school had absolutely no makeup rules, that would be awful!

It is just every indvidual to themselves but they obviously have to stick to whatever the schools rules are to avoid arguments and getting kicked out.

If your school has a policy stick to it lol! But if not really do whatever you like and whatever you're comfortable with. Whether you feel confident with or without makeup is about you! Do what makes you happy :)

Our school has a no make up at all policy. It sucks, but you can get away with a little bit of foundation & mascara. (Well some teachers do)

I'm wearing whatever I damn please. On Tuesday, going back, I'm wearing bright red lips and winged eyeliner. Then I plan on a dark purple almost black, then a dark red lippie with neutral eyes, and I don't know after that! But if you have a school policy stick to it!

Lol I know but Yolande and Emma said their schools have rules about that! I can't even imagine...

My school never cared about makeup.

I totaly agree with you. I am so glad that there is somebody who thinks like this. I agree that in High school you can wear whatever you want, I mean you are older then and you are aware that nobody would like to see you wearing tone of makeup, I suppose ( some of us are not). But in Primary school it really doesn't sound right for me to wear eyeliner or red lipstic.

Hannah it's horrible!! :(. Most of the schools where I live are like this though.

Amelia your school sounds like mine :) I live in New Zealand, and I guess our schools are similar, full uniform too!

That sounds so miserable! I went to a liberal arts school; no uniform, no makeup rules, no dress code...it was nice.

I started wearing foundation, eyeliner, and mascara in grade seven albeit very lightly, then once I hit high school no one could stop me hahaha. I was part of them "emo" generation and throughout grade eight I think I wore a smokey eye nearly everyday. Looking back I think that was a little extreme ( okay very extreme Dx ) but I think you should be able to rock what you want to and have fun with things. High school is all about learning :)

Hannah I usually can get away with a little bit more because girls still walk around like ompa lumpas with bronzer lines across their face, clumpy false eyelashes, sharpee drawn on brows and the rest of it so I look natural compared to them haha,we used to have no rule about makeup until we turned into a academy, like I said nobody listens lmao.

I mean, everyone has the right to do their makeup and look however they want. Whether it looks good or not is rather irrelevant. But yeah, rules that restrict freedom of expression are the devil in my opinion.

I go to school with a full face every day. I don't think anyone had ever seen me without falsies on lmao. Do whatever you want, who cares!?

Yolande P.
Yeah I agree you can do what you want but you can tell when someone has put more on or not,It is sort of sad we can't fully express ourselves but I leave soon and then I can look however I want,it does sort of tie in with judging people by their looks but all our school cares about is impressing the goverment and competing with other schools...

There was an article on here about makeup free policies, as well. Tinted moisturizers, balms, cream blush and mascara like clump crusher can be used lightly to cheat.

Its funny because in highschool if you asked me about make up I'd be like
ARE YOU GOING TO DO A WINGED EYELINER AT 5 IN THE MORNING TO BE OUT BY 6?! No thanks, lol. Probabl why I NEVER cared enough, I only went to school to sleep... lmao.

I think people can express who they are through makeup and if they are doing it to make them feel better about themselves then go right ahead! It does seem extreme to have let's say an eight year old with bold red lipstick and winged eyeliner but I say if you feel you're at the age where you want to use makeup, then go ahead. BUT just because you want to wear makeup doesn't always mean that you can. Stick to school policy!

^ I was not saying that if an eight year old thinks they are old enough should use makeup. There are girls in my brothers class ( nine year olds that use a bunch of Barbie kits and doll kits of bright eye shadow and lipsticks and I think it look ridiculous. The age should be maybe grade six or seven I personally think.
