So I'm sick of my acne and uneven skin tone I've tried a lot of face products but nothing seems to really work so I buckled down and orders the 5 piece proactiv plus kit and I'm eager to find out how it's going to work, my skin is the worst but I get the occasional white head and black head and there are a lot of small bumps on my cheeks and well as some dark spots that I just can't stand, I wanna here about some peoples experience with proactiv and tell me what you think.

I had an intense allergic reaction to it and it permanently damaged the skin around my nose and I only used it for a week about 5 years ago. I highly don't recommend it.

Personally Proactiv didn't work for me. It made my skin extremely dry, and didn't reduce spots or blackheads, or anything. My little sister had a worse experience, she used Proactiv once, and then followed it with sunscreen. She immediately broke out in massive hives, not because she was allergic, but because the Proactiv reacted to the sunscreen. It's a really volatile product, and super harsh on your skin. It literally bleaches it to dry it out and get rid of spots. It bleached my towels, and didn't do anything good for my skin. However, all of that is the original Proactiv, and I'm not sure what the differences are between that and the Proactiv Plus.

Proactive is a terrible product. it's bad for your skin, will probably make it very dry, & only works while you use it. if you ever stop using it, you could even break out worse than before you started. they make it so you'll have to keep using it. so it really doesn't help your skin. & like I said before, it really is bad for your skin. you should just see a dermatologist.I wouldn't even use what you ordered. I'd sell it lol.

The new proactive plus is definitely much more suitable than the old proactive. A lot of reviews are based off of the old formula so it won't help too much to ask.

I only ever tried one thing from the old line and it did not agree with me at all. Generally I stay away from them, I feel they are a bit gimmicky, with countless celebrities pushing their products. Not to say other brands don't use celebs for product placement, but Proactive is shameless with it. I'd recommend just seeing a dermatologist if you can afford to. I have struggled with acne for years, I'm going to be 22 in April and I have been dealing with it since the age of 12. I think after a point it's the only way to go.

But as a side note: Proactive bleaches towels because the main ingredients is benzoyl peroxide, which has the ability to bleach fabrics and hair. It doesn't literally bleach your face but it can be very drying and make it feel as though your face has been bleached. So I'd recommend using it either with white towels or older towels you don't care about possibly getting bleached. And regardless of the system I would use a good moisturizer. If your skin is irritated you aren't going to want to keep up with the medication. I'm currently experiencing this with my prescription acne medication, I'm trying to keep my skin adequately moisturized so I can keep using my medications without irritation.
