I picked up the real deal after I've been using my "imposter" African Black soap and I experienced a bleep, bleep storm of irritation of the painful kind. And I bought a big block of it too so I was really bummed out. My "imposter" is from Nubian Heritage and I pick it up from either Vitamin Shoppe or Whole Foods. If the real deal works for you...great...but if not you have some other alternatives available.

I have tried the one pictured and imposter or not I really, really liked it. My face felt very clean and I did notice a decrease in acne. I used it with my Clarisonic and it was great. Occasionally it could leave me a little dry but I'd just use a different cleanser for a day or so and it was fine.

I buy it at a local organic market but I've seen it at Whole Foods too.

Shelley W. & Caitlin M. both have a point! I used a few brands dudu osun, Nubian heritage, shea moisture from target & others but soon after I started to get irritated but finally switched out to coastal scents brand and I hav been using it for 1yr now n it is my skins fave soap! Remember to moisterize well soon after patting face dry cuz it is very drying! I use sweet almond oil or raw African shea butter. Good luck finding the brand that works for you:)
