Carolyn I know how you feel, self concious and thinking 'WHY ME?!'. I'm at war with acne too and I've tried lots of the scrubs that promise great results and ended up worse!

I highly suggest you go to your doctor, they will prescribe you the best cream or medicine to help fight it.
I was prescribed Clyndamisin (sorry about spelling) for my severe acne and after one day I noticed drastic results.

My doctor also highly recommended using Cetaphil to cleanse my face because its gentle and won't sting your stin or eyes.

Hope I've helped, good luck xx

This might sound so weird. But I've actually stopped washing my face twice a day and only wash it once a day at night before bed(to get all the makeup off.) I recently just cleared up my entire face and my face was covered from cheek to cheek with deep cystic acne from going off birth control. Now all I'm left with is scars (and a couple break outs from my dark spot corrector.)

I rinse my face every morning with pure organic coconut oil and that all I do in the. At night I use Burt's bees facial cleanser for sensitive skin(sensitive is printed in green on the front.) After I wash my face I lathered coconut oil on it again and just massage my entire face with it. Then I rinse with cold water. It has seriously helped me. I'm taking lots of vitamins that I wasn't before that could be playing a role in the clarification of my acne.
Vitamin A,B,C,D,E
Turmeric
Flax seed
Fish oil
& the best one I think that really had a impact
BURDOCK ROOT! If you look it up for acne there are a lot of success stories. I've tried everything this past year since getting acne and these things have been the only things that have improved my skin. (Not having health insurance sucks, so if you have it a derm can clear you the best. ) Everyone's skin is different but I'm happy with my results. Good luck to you!

Try aztec clay mask once a week to get the oil and impurities out of the skin and follow what others have also suggested for benzoyl etc

If its that bad and you can afford to see a dermatologist I would go. I waited for years and have tried all kinds of stuff. It's coming up on a week that I've been on the medications but I already see a difference and it seems to finally be healing. Of course I have a long way to go, and mine is genetic mostly, but it's a start and I don't know why I waited so long. I guess I was just being stubborn and thought I could clear it up on my own. Acne is a very complex thing and doctors still haven't figured out every single thing about it, so if you can afford it I'd get some help. It's a lot better than suffering through it alone and not seeing any results, you know?

Hi there,, I am taking clindamycin hydrochloride 300mg for my acne.. I take it 4 times a day plus clindamycin phosphate as a topical cream/ointment.. I just started taking it less than a week now,, but on the 1-2 day,, you can see the result.. the acnes are drying up little by little,, :) anyway.. you can buy it over the counter., but better if you will have an appointment to a derma. :)

You could be using too harsh a product what's your skin type? Try steaming once a week it will unblock pores, and if you apply witch hazel to spots it will kill bacteria, and running ice over spot will reduce redness (provided you've no sensitivity in which case avoid witch hazel and use a clay/seaweed mask directly on spots to draw.out impurities.

I had very bad acne, I started using the simple line from wal mart that doesn't contain any bad chemicals or acne medicine and I'm acne free now.
