I like gel eyeliner when I am in a hurry or for people who are just starting with eyeliner. I prefer liquid because it is crisper and more black. I find it easier to apply.

I used to prefer gel because I made a mess with the liquid. However I grabbed some elf liquid liner over Christmas and now I prefer it over gel.

I prefer gel just because its easier for me to apply and I like the matte black rather than like shiny liquid liner. I do use liquid but the felt tip ones like nyx skinny eye marker.
