The wing needs to be more defined and sharp

The outer flick looks somewhat rounded and a bit thick to me. I like crisp lines, but it's all about preference. Also, try to make a smoother transition with the liner. It starts sort of abruptly, but that can be easily fixed. Overall, I think you did pretty good!

Thanks guys! It didn't look right to me but I couldn't see why.
Mikayla, I'm using the Essence Superfine liner...it does have a small tip, but I think the problem is that it's not very pigmented, so you have to go over each stroke a couple of times to get it opaque. I have very unsteady hands due to medication I'm taking, so I think that's where the problem comes in. Which eyeliner would you recommend? Thanks for your help :)

I believe you will need some more practice. just to smoothen out the line...I use a felt tip pen type eyeliner...so its much more easier to handle...

Thanks Sarah! I totally agree. I'm going to work on getting the liner closer to the inner corner, which is always a trouble area for me.

Thanks Aru, I'll try that out!

Try using some micropore tape at the edge of your eye at the angle you want the liner to be. It will act as a good stencil and any messy bits will be on the tape not your skin. It should sharpen up the line in the meantime while you practice. For the wing bit I mean...do not tape your eyelid
I'm not very good at making sense

Mikayla, that is such a shame! I would love to try it out, but one of my new year's resolutions was to go cruelty free and Revlon is one of the few drugstore brands I can't use. Oh well! I'll stick with my liner and just keep practicing.
Kim, thanks, that makes total sense and is actually a very clever tip.
Here is another attempt I made last night: I think the shape is better, but it's just a little baby wing and whenever I try making it bigger it takes on the more rounded shape, or looks like I'm wearing black eyeshadow! But you ladies have been so helpful, and I'll definitely take all of your wonderful advice into consideration when I try again tomorrow.

I have hooded eyes too and I find the felt tip pens to work easier for me.

You need to get a qtip slightly wet and go from the end of your water line towards the end of you eyebrow

Thanks Lolita, it's nice to know that there's hope for my hooded eyes! Haha :)
Thanks Mikayla! I'm going to keep working on it and hopefully get it right one of these days :) Unfortunately L'Oreal, Revlon, and Maybelline are the three brands that are off-limits to me. But I've heard good things about the Rimmel felt tip pen, so I might just give that a try.

You should try to line your entire lash line starting from the inner corner and working your way out and going thicker as you go. Try using a felt tip liquid liner, this will keep the liner very crisp.

When you're starting out, I wouldn't recommend applying eyeshadow. That way, no matter how shakey your hands get, you can always grab a makeup remover soaked Q-Tip and clean it up, and even shape it to the exact precise line you want! That's how I do it! Ha ha, not very dignified, I know, but who cares? It works for me and might work for you!

Try a smoother liner, I love Kat Von D tattoo liner. Or even a gel with a think brush so you can get a thinner point.

Zoey, I will definitely try that, thanks for the tip! :)
Brittany, I SO wish they sold Kat Von D in my country, but I guess we're not special enough ;) Thanks anyway!

I really like liquid eyeliners with a long thin brush, and if you're interested in that kind, I recommend NYX Liquid Eyeliner, it's my holy grail product. :)
