ladies with oily skin use a sponge to apply on foundation rather than a foundation brush!!

Why is that?

I have dry skin and I use sponges but brushes are usually really good to use too!

Yes brushes are good. and this is because brushes hold up a lot of makeup especially for girls who don't wash them weekly with sponges you don't have to care and clean them as much also the sponge absorbs.

Wow thanks!

Actually brushes are a lot cleaner, sponges harbor a lot of bacteria, they're harder to disinfect, also having a wet sponge isn't going to absorb oil or anything. It's best to have a mattifying primer and an oil control moisturizer, and always clean your bushes every week.

I have a tip! Apply some gel eyeliner to the rubber part of your eyelash curler. Hold the curler on your lashes for 30 secs to 1 min. Your lashes will hold a curl because of the sticky liner and your lash line will also be darker!

Sponges are less hygienic, especially since people don't throw out the disposable ones they should.
Since you usually wet sponges they can grow mold and bacteria remains trapped inside of them. Plus if you leave them in a compact you're creating a cess pool of germs.

Yes very truee @carolyn @Alexandra thanks for letting us all know but I do throw out my sponges weekly just like your suppose to clean your brushes weekly.

I'm still confused how it helps oily skin?
Jan 6, 2014
Cat C.
That's weird, because when I use my beautyblender, I find that I get less oily. I've noticed that but never thought about it much. I wash my beautyblender after every use and I replace it every 3-5 months, depending on usage. I'm prone to breakouts so I'm very cautious of my makeup application and hygiene.

@Carolyn well your talking about a wet sponge that what I understand there but in mg beauty tip I never said to wet it to get moist so when it is dry and you use your foundation like I said before it works very well with people who tend to have oily skin @cat agreed I also have a beauty blender and I love it and it makes my makeup feel very light on my face I don't tend to break out and I love it.

Yeah I get all that but I'm asking why it helps.
Jan 6, 2014

It helps with the oils on your skin?

How should one wash a beauty blender so that it won't get all those creepy bacteria Carolyn mentioned? 😱😱😱
Jan 6, 2014
Regina S.
@Mariana there is a specific shampoo for it you can buy at sephora you cannot use any other shampoo for it

I'm not much of a brush fan myself, I think it they give a streaky finish! Fingertips are the way to go for me, unless I'm doing makeup on a client so I use a beauty blender :)

It helps because there is so much build up in a brush and most foundation brushes are coated in wax so the build up stay sponges if used once are clean surfaces.

I have oily skin and I prefer a brush. Never had a problem with it.
