So recently I have been looking for a good foundation. I have found that most of them are upwards of $30, and I don't want to spend that much on a foundation, because I am really terrible at choosing the right color! Does anyone know where I can get smaller samples before committing to a $30 or $40 bottle? Also what are some really good foundations? Or tricks to choose the right ones?

You can get samples at sephora, ulta, and department stores like Dillard's, Macy's, & Nordstrom. All you have to do is ask. Foundation choices depend on your skins tone and type. Like ex.. Dry, oily, combo, warm (yellow), cool (pink) & neutral (both).

They should also be able to color match you at Sephora, Ulta, Macy's etc. My only suggestion is check it in daylight vs store lighting before committing. BareMinerals is great, I personally like Hourglass Oxygen Mineral Foundation it's a little more $ but I think worth it.
