Everyone has a goal as well as everyone has their obstacles. If you were to categorize your obstacles under:
-Family
-Friends
-Your ownself
-Etc.
Which would it be and why are they your obstacles?

Family right up top in huge letters. B/c I need to take care of my mom have been since I was 13 and I have to keep sacrificing my dreams and goals to take care of her
Second woul be life its not easy for some for me, sometimes I solve one problem when life throws me a harder one.
Third would be me I guess I can be a bit negative and inpatient.

I want to be a tattoo artist but I don't have enough funds for an apprenticeship, also no one in my family likes the idea of it. I know I'll be empty inside forever if I don't do it.

My obstacle is taking time to enjoy the present and stop living in the future... I'm alway living for my next steps... I need to stop and smell the flowers along this journey we call life.

My obstacle is under myself and is I tend to pile on too much at once and have too many ideas at the same time. I'm a Gemini so sometimes I move from one idea to the other without finishing the other properly. This is common for me with art and books lol

You girls are all beautiful, I think you should all follow your dreams regardless of your obstacle. I have faith in everyone of you girls!

I'd say my biggest obstacle is just trying to follow my dreams. Sometimes I just feel like I'm not taken seriously and like I'm not good enough. I'm really missing out on some good opportunities :\

My family doubts me a lot, making me feel incapable of doing anything for myself.
my "friends" are to "cool" for me so they don't ever talk to me.
I wanna b a rock/punk/post hardcore singer but I don't know how to look the part or write songs :(.
all you girls are perfect and amazing and you should go for your dreams always!!

That's hard to follow your dreams lately I have decided not to think or have them yea I know dumb. But like I said well at least my life I try to go right but life dragges me left. All I know is that I rather know I did the right thing then had all my dreams come true doing the wrong thing.

One obstacle is I feel like I'm not smart enough I suck at math and science and even if someone explains it to me I still don't get it I don't ask questions because I feel like I'm stupid for asking them,

My obstacle is just my peers in general, some of my friends don't really take me seriously or listen to me at all. They just talk about themselves all the time. I have so much to give, and no one will take it.

I really do have a great life. I love my family and friends and I'm very blessed, but my biggest obstacle is living in the future. I'm always worried about what's going to happen next. I worry about things way before it's necessary so I'm trying to work on that. A quote that helps me a lot is: "If you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are worried, you are living in the future. If you are at peace, you are living in the present."
Not only that, being a Junior in high school, I have noooooo idea what I want to do with my life.
I would love to pursue a career in the beauty field, like a makeup artist. I've dreamed about that forever. Then, have my own salon and hopefully my own makeup brand. I always said I NEED a creative job. I can't sit at a desk all day. I'd go insane.
On the other hand, I'm expected to go to college by many people to become a doctor, lawyer, etc. because of my good grades. I'd really love to become a PA for Dermatology. I find it fascinating. But I have a huge passion for animals. So I'm really torn. 😔
Good luck to all of you in overcoming your obstacles. I know you can do it! 💋

Amanda V, I have the same issues and worries about my future:( but I'm a senior and still don't know anything about college and I freak out when my family asks "what do you wanna do?" "where are you going to study" and I'm so clueless:(
I love makeup, I love technology, I love trying new things, going everywhere and seeing everything but you can't go to a college and study that, its so scaring...
I mean, I'm too young for sex, cigarettes and alcohol, but I have to choose what do I want to do for the rest of my life. nice!

Amanda V. I went to school for social work first and it took a while to convince my parents that make up and esthetics were the right path for me. Now they're beyond proud. You just have to do what makes you happy.

Myself. I tend to be a huge dreamer. I have a lot of talent in artistic careers but I always give up on myself before I've had the chance to succeed. I'm really working on sticking to something I've always I've alway's wanted to do...which is be a makeup artist.

I really want to be a profiler and the main thing that stands in my way is my Klippel Trenaunay Syndrome, a rare syndrome that effects the lymphatic and blood systems. I get sick a lot and am constantly in the hospital.

Ana, I know! It really is a stuggle. When people ask me "so what do you wanna do?" I have NO idea lol! Hopefully I'll figure it out though. Good luck to you. 😘
Janet, I know in the end I have to do what makes me happy. Otherwise I'll be miserable. Thank you for sharing your story. ❤️
