This is a top that a lot of photographers tell their models if they're eyes aren't looking fully awake, so next time right before your take a picture put your head down and close your eyes then right before you take the pic put your head up and open your eyes kinda quick that way you get an appearance of being awake.

Having the picture cropped so much makes you look all smushed together. Try getting your entire head in the frame.
