"Microbeads In Soaps Facing Bans Due To Great Lakes Pollution"

Girls! As you know, we have to taka care of our planet, right? :) well, I just found a news which explains that microbeads in cleansers and scrubs are causing great damage to The Great Lakes (to mention an example): "Clean & Clear’s facial scrub can put as many as 330,000 microbeads down the drain per bottle". It turns out to be that microbeads are made of plastics that are too small to be filtered and end in the lakes, then fish eat it and die.

Some of the companies that use microbeads are: Unilever (St. Ives, Pond’s, Noxema, Caress, Dove, Axe, Suave), L'Oreal, Colgate-Palmolive, Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson. All of them had announced they will end using microbeads by 2015-2019, but until them we can change our scrubs with ingredients such as sugar or salts.

I've heard of that, that's why I don't use products with the microbeads and just use salt or sugar to exfoliate my face and a loofah for my body. I don't even use those plastic pouf

Yeah I don't use the microbeads. I wouldn't use plastic at all if possible. And what plastic I do use, I try to recycle. I use a body scrub from Hepmz. I very gently use it on my face.
