Abreva!! Also I know this sounds weird, but soaking it on hydrogen peroxide for about 5-10 min before bed or whenever you can helps SO much. Also you can get medication prescribed from a doctor which lessens the duration by a few days.

I always do this when I get a cold sore, and it usually is gone in a day or two.
take a tea bag and run it under fairly hot water, squeeze the excess water out, then put it on your lip for at least 30 minutes(it does sting a bit but you get used to it). try and keep the tea bag warm for the 30 minutes you have it on, just keep wetting it when needed :)
this has always worked for me :)

I take L-Lysine vitamins it helps minimize the number of outbreaks and also helps them heal faster if you do get one. Abreva, I swear by it. Although honestly it's kinda just the way it works, they last about 4 to 5 days. They suck, they should find a cure to it, although it's a virus :/

I dont have any tips for this but it just made me think of something my mom used to say when ever i got a new boyfriend, she always said 'does he get cold sores? Have you asked? Cos if he does you cant go out with him'. And one of my uncles used to get them a lot and she would never let me kiss him on the cheek to say bye, she always made him kiss my head. Now i have it in my head that if any man gets cold sores the relationship is instantly over. Harsh but i have to think of my face haha.

Lysine supplements and also take a regular tea bag and dip it in warm water and press against the cold sore for about 10 mins

I've been getting them since childhood and my twin nephews get em too... Boyfriends have nothing to do with that. In fact most people HAVE the virus but don't get outbreaks and some of us do. I got one once and my ex boyfriend threw a b*tch fit bc he was so misinformed thinking I was dirty... Like children get cold-sores how ignorant was he? LOL anywho... I also hear tea tree oil is good to help it dry out...

It's true most people get the virus as children usually from your parents. Even if you don't get cold sores you could still be a carrier and it does make you a dirty person if you do get them.

I get them twisted a year when the cold weather starts n when summer begins, this is what I do and it works super v fast, get any type of hot pepper and kinda burn in the stove then with a napkin grab it and tap the sore while the pepper is still hot and after the pepper has gone cold shock the sore with ice, after a few min. out any type of ointment for cold sores and by the next day the sore has dried up..hope u try this it really does work :-)

Most ppl which have cold soars get them during infancy due to saliva on all their toys and they share the toys with other infants ir children. Abreva and takings to your doctor can help treat and prevent future cold soars

nope ...none of these will help....
abreeva -you'll find that it only feels tingly for the first five minutes as it dries and absorbs
and it take 3 to 4 days especially if it's gotten big
and the tube dispenses it with a pump and it always pumps out so much so the tube goes quick ...especially if you have a whole family that uses it
for me ...it runs in my family and my boyfriend's family
abreeva for me ..my 2 brothers ..my mom..and boyfrind ..it only made it tingle and didn't take mine or my family's away ....i found a walgreens brand that, no lie, takes all my cold sores away by the end of the day ....its around the same price as abreeva but usually on sale for -15$ buy one get one at my walgreens
its a tiny tube (like toothpaste) that has a thick carmex looking medicine ..it also takes away my chapped lips when they get bad
i find that every time my lips chap up in the winter..right after i used chap stick id get a cold sore
so i just treat my chaped lips with the tinniiesst amount of the walgreens brand
that has saved me much embarrasment in my high shool days and college days
i hate cold sores so much
i can't put my lips anywhere near anyone or share drinks and it cant be covered with makeup :/

I get cold sores so much I have one right now I looked on the Internet and if u put salt on it to clean it out then some deodorant then medicine and repeat don't leave it alone till it's gone
