Exfoliate a couple times a week, and use a hydrating primer! I know Smashbox has one!

I LOVE smashbox from sephora. I have 2 palettes and eyeliner and mascara.

Exfoliate and make sure to always moisturize! I used to have very dry skin. For a moisturizer I reccomend CeraVe's day moisturizer. Also for foundation try to use a bb cream as they tend to be a little less drying than foundation. If not, some foundations that have worked well with my dry skin are Mac's face and body foundation or Loreal True match lumi. Also application can be a big factor, I prefer to use a beauty blender or Real Technique's foundation brush.

Trying a more hydrating foundation can help! But the MUFE foundation works wonders on your skin so I suggest using a much more hydrating primer and exfoliating your skin every once in a while per week!

Oh my God! This is right up my alley. Last winter my skin got so dry. I had peely flaky skin that showed through any foundai used. This is how I handled it.
*Non drying cleanser (Burt Bees Orange Essence is non foaming & has a balmy texture.
*Exfoliate every other or every other 2 days with Simple Exfoliating wipes. These wipes have a much finer texture than a scrub, regular cleansing wipes or a washcloth. I find I can get a better scrub with these because I can press the cloth really firmly against the skin yet you still maintain the pressure & movement
*I had to skip regular moisterizer & use either Tarte Maracuja Oil or Egyptian Magic Cream (which is actually a salve not a cream).
*Before makeup application I stayed away from any skincare that had acids, retinols or anything with chemicals &
water in it (my skin was also sensitive at this time). So I just lightly pat on the aforementioned products before makeup application.
*Finding a foundation that covered flakes was a challenge. I finally found one that minimized the flakes about 95%. It was Bobbi Brown Extra Repair Foundation (not the tinted balm). This is a light to medium coverage foundation that does not have any water in it so because of its moisterizing properties such as shea butter, it doesn't dry down. This is what is hiding & helping to heal the dry skin. Don't powder the flaky or patchy areas no matter how tempted you are (I just do my nose).
*When applying this foundation, use your fingers ONLY. Use patting, pressing & rolling motions to blend into the skin. Since it doesn't dry down like other foundations, you'll have time.
Using a brush or a sponge causes MICROEXFOLIATION, and just kicks up more flakes.
Hope this helps.

I have dry skin and MUFE didn't work for me AT ALL. So I say switch!
I'm using NARS sheer glow now.
•I apply smashbox's hydrating primer to my dry areas FIRST
•then once that has set I spray some fix+ by mac all over my face and on my brush (I use a sigma flat top kabuki)
•after that I apply NARS radiant creamy concealer , I used to wear mac prolongwear but I found it just makes me skin look more dry and ashy :(
•lastly when I'm done with all my makeup I spray my face again with fix+ and UD all nighter setting spray :)
As for skincare, the moisturizer that really transformed my skin is aveeno clear complexion moisturizer, like dry patches and flakiness is no problem anymore.

Also use a cream cleanser rather than any other one. I use neutrogena natruals cream cleanser, it's the BEST cleanser I ever used and I've been thru so many, trust me lol
