I bought the Anastasia contour kit bc I love the contoured look and have heard wonderful things, but I feel like it's not dark enough for me. There's only one shade that I can really use as a bronzer. Does anyone have any recommendations for me?

Sleek contour kit has a shade for dark skin and I heard nothing but good things about it! It's only $9.99 but since it's a company from the UK you have to order online

I use to have that situation when I was tan from being in California. I would use eye shadow that was a matte gray/brown color. Or just use a gray shade.

I agree With Alyssa, sleek is a great brand and originally made for Dark skin so you should definitely Check their website ^^

You can always use a face powder that is darker than your skin tone.

Graftobian is definitely a good brand! I got two inexpensive contouring and highlighting items. I got the HD creme palette and a foundation powder pan.

I'm actually curious and I'm surprised that the Anastasia kit wouldn't be dark enough for you since contouring is a subtle shadowing of structure Not meant to be seen just meant to enhance face structure.May I ask what do you know about what contouring actually is? I ask this because so many don't understand what it's actually for or how it should look and I'm not talking about amateur makeup enthusiast application of the what contour has been miss represented as. The Contour kit of Anastasia has 6 colors for an all around steps of contour & Highlight made for every shade but they all need to be done in steps keep in mind it should not be noticeable..Fawn gives a hint of the kick needed for contour finish and you do the rest with Blush then add highlight to give the lift of your cheek so in all around thought with true application you should be fine even with your skin color. Can you swatch Fawn & Java to your hand please? By the way there is only one bronze in that kit but that's what you use after the contouring effect has been applied to give the skin a hint of sun kissed glow where the sun would hit the skin not used for contouring.

Covergirl queen bronzer in ebony, sleek contour kit in medium, Nars contouring and blush pallete, a foundation 2-3 shades darker than your skin.

I love the palette, don't get me wrong, it just didn't do wonders for my face if that makes any sense. I don't mind swatching them for you, but which colors are java and fawn?

The middle one (Fawn) and the left one (Java) :) What wonders where you looking for? maybe also an example of a picture of what you are aiming for would also help.I'm just trying to help you narrow it down so please don't mind my question's lol.

That's weird it doesn't show up on you cus it shows up just fine on me. What you can do is cream contour first then use the contour kit to set it. That should add more dimension.

Great great great explanation alma you couldnt have said it better

@sarah to me your not that dark and that palette should be able to give you the contour effect, like alma said contouring just enhances that being said have reasonable expectations when I first started contouring I never got the look I wanted reason being my expectations where to high I was wanting to perform plastic surgery on my face with a brush and a powder ughh in no way is that possible lmfao second I was using the wrong product but once I got the right product it did give my face a different dimension and looked like an actual shadow this product has the right tones from the picture you posted, have patience and practice and you will see the difference 😊

Yasmin if darker is what she want's then so be it (by all means streak it up) but when it comes to actual contour finish so many don't get that it's something that is an illusion of subtle finish you shouldn't be able to see a dark line and everything else is added extras to finish the look. This is just coming from my experience working with faces so I'm not sure if your sarcasm( lol) is as if we don't know this which by the way we do, it's just trying to help her as this is why Beautylish exists from Pro's to makeup enthusiast.By all means if you can venture out and make a suggestion that could benefit her or help with her application please do so and help versus making a comment of No value.Meaning Be a Pro and help each other out.

Couldnt agree with u more alma

Yasmin why change something thats not broken it would just be a waste of money that palette is perfect for her it just takes practice, i would get u if ur taking what im saying lightly but alma is a professional makeup artist so she knows what shes talking about and what would be best regardless its on sarah if she want to take anyones advice or suggestions no disreaspect yasmin but shes the one asking for help and suggestions not the people giving it

No offense, but I wouldn't exactly classify you as dark skinned. I'm dark skinned, you're in the middle/medium shade range. I feel like a lot of the suggestions above would be too dark for your as some of them (the sleek contour kit in dark) work on my skin so I know it would be to dark on harsh on yours. I would say take to heart what Alma is saying or look up some tutorials on how to properly use the palette as the shade range seems as if it would work on you.

Agree yasmin there's no need to be rude, next time please answer the question asked instead of giving comments on what people replied like you said on your post thats not what the post was asking 😊

Your right its not that serious and that is why it was clarified with explanation maybe you read the intention of my explanation wrong but that's out of my control, it wasn't about opinion it was about helpful advise getting to the core of what she wants hence why I asked questions. Its called a dialogue of conversation about makeup and helping and that pretty much sums it up and is nothing more so yes again not a big deal so lets move on and if you feel I was rude please understand that my intention was to help her. When it comes to makeup that's what I focus on and may be a bit more serious for me because after all its what I do in life (makeup) sorry that the languages of the two seem different to you and hope that you could re read it with a smile.Rude not the case at all informative yes productive in dialogue yes wanting to help yes confused by your feed back comment yes that is why it was asked if it was sarcasm.Did person of thread want help yes that is why everyone gave their feed back.So all in all this is just a silly mishap because of one comment that could have been simply avoided or ignored.Let's Dust it off with a Fan Brush & On to the next one.. Have a good evening  :-)
