A local charity that provides prom dresses for girls in need asked me to help with the girls hair and makwup. Im not a makeup artist and I've had no training. I know some of what I need like sterilization, a mixing palette, foundations for different skin tone and types. The majority of the people in my area are African American or Hispanic and I really have no idea what colors look best on their skin tones or what type of skin they generally have. . . Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

It usually helps to have a foundation palette with different tones. In this case I think you can do is buy a few dark shades and medium tone makeup from drugstore such as maybelline. If a person is a bit lighter u can go with light and then mix the others to achieve a perfect shade. ELF brushes are something u can invest in since its cheaper. Everyone has different skin issues so asking them is best.

if your gonna be doing quite a few people, make sure to have a nice handful of brushes with you. if you can use 1 brush for multiple uses, do it! it will save you time and clean up time as well. for example, use 1 eyeshadow brush for primer, shadow, and brow highlight. you will see how much time you can save by using a brush for multiple uses.

and when u put the eyeshadow on you probably have to use a heavy hand to make it show more on deeper skin tones

for really deep tones make sure you buy a light colored eyeshadow stick like nyx jumbo stick in milk or cottage cheese not only will the eyeshadow hold longer the color will come out more vibrant and loreal true match has a great variety of tones in cool warm and neutral. neutrals are always safe way to go for foundation. and rule of thumb you dt have to buy every shade u can buy every third shade and mix colors. hope this helps
