Oh ok. cause I'm thinking about dying my hair a light brown. my hair is naturally black. so I was wondering if I should just dye it, or bleach and then dye.

Virgin hair is easier to dye, and if you're thinking of bleaching your hair, especially for the first time, please go to a professional.

If your hair is black and you want a lighter color you need bleach it first. with vol.20 peroxide and let it maybe 20 mn then dye.

Also, box dye is horrible for your hair. The hair dye that professionals use are less damaging.

Noooo!! If your hair is absolutely natural and Virgin there is NO NEED I bleach it first. Use a level 6 natural with 20 or 30 volume. Equal parts. You can get it from Sally's beauty supply. They'll help you out. Ion color is actually really good.

Also, the level you select depends on what color your natural hair is (:

DO NOT bleach your hair if its virgin natural.. thats the beauty of virgin hair- you don't have to pre lighten if youre not looking to go platinum blonde.
