So my hair has been the same length for a couple years now and I would love for it to be super long one day but I have no clue how to get it that way. My hair is a couple inches past my shoulders. So if any of you all have good tips please let me know.  Thanks.

Keep it healthy. Find a good shampoo and conditioner for your hair type-personally some suggestions that have worked well for me is loreal everstrong line and garnier damage eraser. If your hair is dry/damaged, deep condition it once or twice a week-I use and love the macadamia deep repair masque. Eat a healthy diet and drink lots of water. Try not to use heat on your hair or bleach. Get regular trims to keep split ends at bay so the hair can grow. It's all about keeping hair healthy!

The easiest way to make your hair grow is to keep it healthy. Don't mistake me, the rate at which your hair grows is determined by genetics, and nothing you can do will make your hair grow faster than it naturally would at its healthiest, and some people are also not genetically predisposed to long hair, so if your hair stops growing at a certain point, it might just not be possible.

First, trim any split ends. If you don't, they will keep splitting up the shaft and ruin even more of your hair. That means that when you do finally cut your hair, you'll have to cut off even more of it to get rid of the splits

Second, invest in a sulfate and sodium chloride free shampoo and conditioner (I like the L'oreal EverStrong, as well as Pureology, because my hair is constantly died and Pureology is great for maintaining that. Occasionally, I use the Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Shampoo, which is neither sulfate free nor for dyed hair, but it makes my hair feel SO clean, and that's not the worst thing once in a while), and a hair mask or deep conditioner (I like Macadamia Deep Repair Masque and the L'oreal Power Moisture Mask). In the shower, wash your hair first thing, shampoo only the roots and condition from your ears down. After that, apply your mask, focusing on the ends of your hair. Finger comb until you don't feel any knots, and then put your hair in a bun. Leave it that way for the rest of your shower, washing it out should be the last thing you do. I wash my hair around 3 times a week (with dry hair I can get away with it) and do the hair mask every time. If you need to wash your hair more than that, reduce your hair mask usage to 3 times :) make sure you're finger combing your hair in the shower so that you don't have to brush it, because brushing it can break it off like heck.

Third, in terms of heat protectors, I like the Tressemme and It's a 10 Leave in Plus Keratin. However, I advise you to cut out heat styling as much as possible (It's not the worst thing as long as you take care of your hair, so if you can't I wouldn't worry).

That's my hair routine, my entire head is bleached and it is just as healthy as it was before I dyed it.

My hair stylist takes the hair, skin and nails pills and she has long hair. She started with shoulder length hair and now has hair well past after just 3 weeks of a daily pill. It works well for her but it mostly depends on how well you take care of your hair.

Information regarding hair growth -

Genetics and healthiness of hair

Your hair growth rate and type is down to genetics. There is no way to growing your hair faster, apart from keeping your hair healthy. Hair masks and deep conditioners can keep your hair healthy, and making sure you cut off split ends (otherwise they go further up the hair shaft, causing breakage). Cutting off hair which doesn't have split ends 'to grow it faster' is pointless, as you are cutting off healthy hair that could grow further. Drinking lots of water also keeps your hair healthy.
Try to use less heat on your hair too, as this will dry your hair out a lot quicker.
Don't brush your hair when wet, as this can lead to breakage. Another factor of breakage is putting your hair up in a bun or ponytail too much or too tight. Try braiding or wrapping your hair in a bandana or scarf instead, as it is less likely to damage your hair.

Shampoos, conditioners and hair treatments

Shampoos and conditioners that say they mend split ends are a complete con, there is absolutely no way to 'mend' split ends. Cutting them off is the only option.
Similarly, shampoos and conditioners such as Mane and Tail are not good for human hair as they are not the correct pH level for us. The belief that they grow your hair faster is the buildup of wax, which causes your hair to be heavier, which leads to you believing that it is longer. Using Mane and Tail can cause brittleness in hair, which can lead to breakage. In the short term, you may think it is good for your hair, but in the long term you will notice it is not.

Biotin

Biotin should not be taken unless you have a Biotin deficiency, which is diagnosed by a doctor. If you take Biotin when you don't have a deficiency, it can cause acne, sickness and even hospitalisation. You should be eating enough Biotin-rich foods such as almonds, walnuts, chickens eggs, goats milk, cows milk and vegetables such as onions, cucumbers, cauliflowers and carrots.

I had the same problem. My hair would grow, but the ends were splitting so bad that I basically lost all new growth when I got the spilt ends cut off. What broke the cycle for me was no longer using a regular shampoo and moving to a natural alternative, so I suggest checking different things out! Also, I don't use heat on my hair, which certainly helps.
