Probably your hair is naturally dry or your hair has been damaged too much. if you have dry hair, then take extra care to moisturize like hair oils. if your hair is far too damaged then look for repair masks, probably look for a shorter cut, since split ends can you travel up.

Hair growth is based on genetics, the health of you & your hair. so the only way to promote growth is to keep yourself & your hair in good health.

Do not just go taking pills (including biotin). You can end up with side effects serious enough to put you in the hospital. always ask your doctor first.

Some tips to promote growth:
get trims regularly (split ends will go higher up the longer you wait & then you'll have to cut off more hair)
drink a lot of water
use as little heat as possible
always use a heat protectant, I recommend It's a 10
don't brush your hair while it's wet
do hot oil treatments (I use coconut oil)
use a deep conditioner (I use Aussie 3 minute miracle)
use hair masks (store bought or diy)
try a leave in conditioner

keep in mind that there are no miracle products or methods. good luck in growing your hair! :)

A few hours bfr you wash your hair...take handful of olive oil and massage it into your scalp, remember to use your fingers your scalp should have this tingly feeling like ants are running around and another two handfuls for the rest of your hair leave it in for a 1-2 hours than wash your hair like usual. having thick/ a lot of hair is up to genetics but you can fool people by using extensions that are the same length of your hair (ariana grande does this so it looks like she has lots of hair). I've been using Crecimax from Paolo. I got it in the Dominican republic and I've only used it 3 times in the past 3-4 weeks but I've noticing a but on length so has my mom, she blow dries my hair, so I'd definitely suggest looking it up. if your hair is wet only use a comb. while blow drying use a round brush to style it when its almost dry. I've also been using alkaline powder two spoonfuls into a glass of water each morning and drink it. it helped grow my hair an bit and my nails got strong my hair wasn't as brittle anymore.

Coconut oil!
Coconut oil!
Try heating up a few tablespoons of coconut oil for a few seconds, out it all over your hair and let it sit all night (4+) hours! It did wonders for my hair!
