Agreed, omg I see so many girls at school sharing their mascara and I just cringe! Think of all the eye fungi and infections you could contract! :/

Meh. I'll share with someone I really trust. I don't use products at the makeup counter.

When I was in secondary school, all the girls that used to share mascaras all ended up with conjunctivitis and all walked around looking high! It's scarred me forever (those times I didn't wear makeup so I wasn't concerned) so no noo sharing makeup especially eye makeup. Though I do share blushes and lipsticks with my sister ( not glosses though as they can't really be sanitised)

Hi navi 😄 I want to ask a couple of things to your thread if you don't mind, 😄 its always best to sanitize makeup there is a product and wipes called beauty so clean (sold here in beautylish) if you don't want to waste money on these you can always get a 91% or higher NOT less percent alchool to disinfect your makeup just put the alcohol in a spray bottle and spray your makeup lightly no need to bathe your makeup in it lol... As for washing your brushes after each and every use, you have to be careful with that because there is such a thing as over washing your brushes and the bristles start to loosen, what you can do is spot clean your brushes, with 91% alcohol or higher in a spray bottle spray lightly your brush and brush your brush against a cloth to get all the excess powder out 😊

I never share makeup.. And one day in gym I saw two girls sharing deodorant and I cringed.. I mean I doubt you could get an infection, but to me that's just unsanitary

I agree with Lilli.
Although you may not share your makeup (Lets not forget that some of us do make up as free lance or are Make up artists, so some of us do have to share products), it is a brilliant idea to sanitize them every now a day. There is still bacteria getting on them regardless, which is normal.
Also.. as Lilli is mentioning.. here is the information on why brushes shouldn't typically be washed everyday. They can be sanitized appropriately between uses.
As quoted from Miss Jacqueline H.
Nice collections ladies. A few words of advice, while it's important to keep your makeup brushes clean, don't over do it. I have seen perfectly good brushes thrashed due to over cleansing. Depending on how often and what you use a particular makeup brush with or for, I would suggest washing your brushes every few weeks. Every time you expose your brushes to water, you have to be super vigilant in terms of how you clean them because with solid hardwood or composite wood handles, you don't want to submerge them in water. Wood handles are porous and will absorb water. This will cause the handle to expand (when wet) and contract (when dry). The expanding wood will stretch the ferrule where the handle is inserted and cause the entire brush head to become loose or possibly fall off. Excessive exposure to water can also compromise the ferrule. The ferrule is the metal band that connects the bristles to the handle. Once the bristles have been shaped and set properly, they are glued into the ferrule. When you combine the bristles and ferrule it becomes what is known as the brush head, and overexposure to water will compromise the substructure and that's when you start to see bristles come out in clumps and the “crimp” rings at the base of the ferrule, securing it tightly to where the brush handle is inserted can loosen up due to exposure.
That thread was actually very informative on how to keep your make up brushes clean... here is the link.

My mother-in-law share makeup. We have a beloved Tom Ford lippie that travels between our homes. We sanitize it every time. Lipstick, blush and eyeshadow we share from time to time but we don't share makeup brushes. My daughter is a MUA and she is very strict with her professional kit versus personal collection. Mommy is not allowed to touch her pro kit.
