Hi girls I have been thinking about getting a dermal piercing on my cheek bone! I can't decide!! I was wondering if any of you girlys have it done or know about it and could tell me some pros and cons! How they do it, etc! Post pics too :) thanks ladies!!

I haven't had it done but have read that your body may reject the dermal straight away or you may have a few years with it and then the body rejects it. I am not too sure about scarring as eventually I think they need to be taken out. I would assume some scarring but with proper care it would fade. Hope I was helpful. Go talk to a reputable piercer and ask all about the care and risks and I am sure they will be happy to help and give you all the info :) They don't bite :) I know the lady who did my piercings was amazing and so helpful. xx

Okay, so I haven't got one but I've also looked into getting one (but didn't) but what I know is that they'll either use a scalpel or a little puncture thingamajig that just looks like a pencil, they twist it around a few times and then it will make a pocket for where your bar will sit, they'll then push or "manoeuvre " the piercing into the pocket the just made and will put the top on. Pros: if your body doesn't reject it, it should stay there for a good few years.
Cons: it could reject and I'm pretty sure it generally leaves a little scar like bump that should slowly heal over but usually leaves a purplish looking scar.
: You have to have it removed by a piercer that is able or a doctor if none of your piercers can do that.
I think you should go for it, just be gentle and remember to wear patches for the first week over it to make sure it's not going to just fall out. I'm sure there's stuff I've missed but I'm more knowledgeable surface piercing wise haha.

Ok I havent gotten it done but I have googled it and I would only go to a piercer who has done out before because if they havent done a dermal piercing in the cheek before they could accidentally damage a gland and leave behind unwanted scars if you want more info got to http://forums.bodyartforms.com/archive/index.php/t-38961.html.
