Coloring Hair With Regular Chalk?

I don't have hairchalk but I want to try the whole chalk hair dye thing, will regular chalkboard chalk work? If not, what brand of hair chalk will work well and where can I get it? Thanks :)

They have hair chalk at cvs and target I havnt tried it but you can look up reviews and they are only 5$

I'm not sure where or what brands that you can get for the proper hair chalk (I've never used it) but normal chalk doesn't work the colour comes out really fast, oil pastels work but ruin your hair!

Wont the chalk come off your hair and smudge your clothes?

Regular chalk won't work. It is really soluble in water so it'll come off very easily what with moisture in the air and get everywhere! I've used oil pastels once and it turned out pretty nice for me :)

I have black hair and it worked just fine! I think it will depend on which one you use. I'm sorry but I don't remember which one I got :/

I've used hair chalk I got mine from esty from a girl called 'hairandco' they were okay but the faded super quick it's stained most of my clothes and it made my hair super dye, it becomes a thick build up and it's hard to even run your fingers though your hair x
