I would definitely go for a dye instead of kool-aid. Manic Panic Purple Haze would probably yield similar results to the picture you posted on your unbleached brown hair.

I think you'd look good but the purple kool aid doesn't work so well
I've seen girls with red kool aid in their hair that lasted ages but the purple didn't color my hair properly or last
But maybe that's just me, it might work for you :)

Don't use Kool Aid. It is extremely drying and unpredictable. You won't get an even color, and the patchy color you will get will last a long time and will be impervious to color strippers or hair dye.
A vegetable dye like Manic Panic will work much better.

Go for it! my hair is purple and I love it. Go for a dye though. Maybe Ion. you can get it at sallys and it's gentle.

You can get this color with a vidal sassoon box dye in london luxe. I did it and it turned out very close to this color.
