Hi Ladies.
I am going to Vegas next week and I have several customer meetings and events over four days, these will be 16 to 20 hour days. I prefer mid to high end items. The issue for me is two parts; 1) I have oily skin and I sweat, any tips/tricks/products recommendations that could help or that will stay put would be really appreciated. 2) I need some clothing ideas, I am heavy in the middle (5'7", 168 lbs) I carry most of my weight in my tummy, my legs are my favorite feature so I do not like long dresses. Some outfit recommendations would be really helpful. I am a very un hip 33 year old, I work in a conservative field so I am looking to update myself a little for this trip and for the coming year.
Sorry for the long post.

Hi Kelly, are you looking specifically for professional attire?

But for outfits, I wouldn't get anything super hold since it'll be a big change. I'd stick with simple skirts, high waisted if you can, collared blouses and plain shirts. I would get a few accent pieces though, maybe a floral skirt or a patterned or colored shirt to go with a black skirt. I'm just going on what my mom wears and what I learnt in Cosmo class, but if you stick to things you can mix and match you'll be good. :) heels are good too, but might be uncomfortable.
This is what I mean by small vs big print. The cheetah print is tighter together and will make you appear smaller, where as the leopard is spaced apart and each thing is larger so it'll make you appear larger. This applies to all print, not just animal. Hope I helped and have fun in Vegas haha :)

Thanks Alyx.
Aru, I have a lot of professional attire appropriate for Chicago weather, but I'm looking for some pieces to lighter my clothes up a bit. I also need some going out attire and that is where I really struggle, at the conference I was at in Vegas last year I really felt flat/dull.

I can't help you wardrobe-wise, but hoping to learn some tips for me too. :)
Makeup: Smashbox BB cream has oil blotting elements, Tarte 12hrBb cream/primer and MUFE Mat Velvet have all worked really well for me in abnormal heat conditions, such as working fryers at a county fair and working a pizza oven for a small restaurant with an even smaller kitchen! Lol! I applied Cosmedicine's mattifier first, one of the previous three, set with translucent powder, then spritzed with MUFE Mist & Fix.
Blush I apply a cream version first, then apply the same shade in powder form to set it. Eye makeup, I'd smudge out some of your UD liners as a shadow and then waterproof mascara on bottom lashes only. I also apply eye primer below the eye for the liner. And a Stila lip stain with balm on top for lips.
I'm sure there are tons of new and possibly more effective products out there, but this routine worked for me and my empty pockets. lol!

Well for hair if you want to look neat do a nice and neat sock bun make up I would go with red lipstick plain and since you have oily skin you can use press powder foundation. you can never go wrong with black high heels and I would wear studs for earrings. You can never go wrong with a plain classy black skirt and if you are staying in Las Vegas after work and go out you can always dress bold like biker jackets and black boots with cheetah and leopard dress and some cool accessories

I think there are some nice dresses at Ann Taylor and Banana Republic right now. They would be nice for meetings with a blazer and heels and would great in the evening too with no jacket and wedge sandals. I'm 33 and in a conservative field as well and it seems like I'm getting too old for some stores, but Banana Republic and Ann Taylor are my favorites right now for work and even outside of work. A sheath dress is my go to summer work look. Also love getting Calvin Klein dresses from TJ Maxx or Marshall's.The Gap has some ok more casual dresses. I tend to always wear dresses when it's hot as it's just easier (plus draws attention to your legs if that's a good feature). My skins pretty oily too but I've been using this Benefit Big Easy BB cream and their Hello Flawless powder and it's a great combo that actually leaves my skin oil free all day!

In the photo they are showing how draping and interesting necklines draw attention away from your middle-I also think this dress would be easy to dress up with jewelry for night. The jeans and t-shirt is what not to wear-according to the site I found this on.

Old navy has some very simple, cute dresses on sale rright now. They can be dressed up with great shoes, a shortsleve cardigan and the right jewelry. Also check out Target. they also have good things. I just think you can go wrong with dresses. especially in summer. plain, print, whatever, they always look nice.

Thank you all!! I'm excited now to go shopping!
Jacqueline, is Ben Nye available in any stores?

Kelly, so you're wearing your more business friendly dress/skirt for day let's say, have you seen those moto vests? That would be cute and easy to throw on and not add too much heat at night. Plus, pockets! I have a denim one, but they make pleather, etc. I've seen them on HauteLook or Ideeli, but I think any place probably sells them now?

Thank you all so much for your help! I'll be out shopping on and off throughout the next few days, I'll let you know what I pick up.
Bree, the Moto Vest is a good idea, I actually have some dresses that I can wear during the day and then use one of those vests to make them more casual/fun appropriate.

I would wear some wrap dresses, preferably sleeveless, and layer something over for daytime. I am always freezing during conferences only to sweat outside when I take a break. Have fun! These ladies have helped me too!
