Why does foundation go on before concealer?

Honestly it just depends for me! Lol sometimes I'll do one before or after. I don't exactly think there is a right or wrong way to do this, its just up to the person.

Normally people put it after foundation because then you can see where you really need more coverage.. that the foundation didn't cover. you just end up using less product in the long run. either way works though!

Well I use it mainly for what renay said to add a bit more coverage or for not to use to much concealer than what its needed and I just set it with a translucent powder

If I have problem areas to cover up I use it before but for my under eyes I use it after
I use certain concealers for under eye and certain for blemishes

It depends on how you apply your foundation. I usually put it on after foundation because I buff in my foundation and if I put the concealer before it'd just blend out the concealer and not cover as much.

If you apply concealer before it's best to stipple on or use a patting motion with a beauty blended so that you're not moving around the concealer. Using the stippling method I tend to not need concealer though so it depends.

I like using concealer after. I avoid stippling as it always ends up too thick on me and I'd rather have a thin amount of foundation and conceal afterwards
