Is waterproof really waterproof?

If I wore waterproof mascara to the lake would it come off in the water? I don't mind a little bit but if it makes my whole face black that wouldn't be good.

My experience with waterproof mascara is that its held up nicely. I used the makeup forever waterproof mascara and it was great. I had it on for prom so it held up to humidity and it held up to chlorine pool water so I would think it would hold up in lake water

No it wouldn't turn your face black just don't rub your eyes so you can avoid the little black clumps of it on your face. I wear waterproof mascara to the beach all the time.

Like sapphire I'd test it out. Put some one and splash some water on your face. Also make sure the brand your using does say waterproof.

Ya it will probably stay. Make sure not to rub your eyes though because waterproof mascara was made for when you cry.
