How Do I Dye My Hair Pink? Help Pleasee.

Hey everyone, I want to dye my hair PINK! I have dark brown hair as you can see in my photo. Can someone please kindly explain to me the steps and stuff I would need to get. I'm not dying all my hair just the bottom parts. Thanks :D.

Honestly when it comes to anything with bleaching I'll go to the salon it can be tricky. BUT some girls here do there own hair hopefully they'll answer:)

Are you doing it yourself? You will need to bleach the parts you want to dye. But a semi permanent pink (special effects, manic panic, punky colors, directions etc) and with those all you do is shampoo your hair, no conditioner and cover the area you want to dye with it. Leave it on for as long as you want. They are non damaging and the longer you leave it on the longer it'll last. I usually keep mine in for at least 4-6 hours. Then rinse in the coldest water you can stand till the water runs somewhat clear. Then wait a day or two before shampooing and it'll last longer.

Also keep in mind, you might have to dilute the pink with conditioner because the color you want it very light. Depending on how much you wash your hair you might have to dye it every week too. I have pink/purple ombre hair and I wash my hair 2/3 times a week and I redye every 3 weeks or so.

Oh and I'd suggest going to the salon for bleaching then doing the pink at home. Especially if you've never bleached your hair before. The first time you do it is always the most damaging because you don't know what to do properly. If you go to a salon it'll be minimal damage if you go to someone who knows what they're doing.

Depends where you live. Sally's carries manic panic, punky colors and I believe in some places they sell a few others. I never buy dye online, but I have an independent curio shoppe near me that sells every type of veggie dye brand. If you have any "gothic" or out there shops in your city you should look there. You can also try googling "where to buy ____ in ____" (the dye brand you choose and your city) that's how I found the shop I go too. But you can also buy online. They all ship directly from the websites I believe and there's tons that well them.

You can dye it right after if you want as long as it's toned or at least not orange or yellow. Another tip is if you don't want your pink to turn into a salmony color as it fades, add a drop of blue dye to your mix. The tiniest drop will do. I dip the tip of my pinky in a blue dye, and mix in with an entire pink container. These veggie dyes are not damaging. It's basically conditioner. But if you can, deep condition right after you bleach and wait a day or two before doing the pink.
Right after you bleach your hair is super porous and it can make the pink uneven because your hair will suck up more color in some places than others. So if you can, deep condition and then the next day or whenever shampoo your hair and put the pink in. But if you can't wait, then it is safe to do it right after (after shampooing) but you might have to do it twice to get an all over even color. Though personally I like when some areas are a little darker than others.

You just get a simple bleaching kit from most stores and then buy your preferred pink hair dye.. Mix with conditioner and yeah... It's very high maintenance though
