Hey guys! I thought this would be an interesting topic. What are some things you've always wanted to try but haven't had the guts to yet? Whether it's shaving your head, wearing a certain shade of lipstick or eyeshadow look, or even getting piercings/tattoos, etc.
I think mine would be wearing bright lipstick. I'm fine with darker colors, but the really bright reds and pinks just scare me off! Haha they look great on other people but I'm not sure they're my thing. What about you guys?

Mine is shaving half my eyebrow so I can draw any shape. 🙊

Uhh I think mine would be to get a pixie cut - I love love love short blond hair, but I so don't have the guts!
I also used to be really scared of bright lipsticks, and to some extend still is, but it's getting much better :)

Hmmmmm. This is a toughie because normally I'm fairly fearless. This is probably stupid but I'm afraid of winged eyeliner. It's everywhere, and my greatest fear in life is loss of self and creativity, which is what that feels like for me personally.

I am afraid to go blond :/ I'm naturally a bit more toned and I have darker eyebrows but I always wanted to be blond and I just don't have guts to do it :(

Waxingg! I've always been scared to get my girly area waxed I think itll hurt so bad
honestly also I'm afraid people will judge me for wearing to much makeup

Black lipstick maybe, and anything glitter. But I really don't like glitter, so I'd gladly pass on it. I have shaved my head, colored my hair unnatural colors countless times, got a pixie..
I've never been blonde, I mean I've had my hair grey for a while and people were calling me blonde, so I went purple right away. (lol)
As for piercings a day tattoos, I'm planning on getting both but I don't have the money yet.
Also I've worn red lipstick before but I feel self conscious in it every time!
Sorry, this was a bit messy...

In light of this thread, I do want to make one thing very clear: do what makes YOU happy. If that means painting on your face every day like you're freaking RuPaul or being minimal, never, ever be afraid to wear your makeup the way you like. If you're happy with the way you look, you automatically look 10 times better :) so don't be afraid of judgment if you're just wearing what you love!

I'm too afraid to cut my hair shorter than my shoulders, or do dramatic lip colors like neon or black.

I'm really pale, and it took me a good 18 years to wear bold lipstick

Tanya, that's an interesting one, what part of it scares you? (I sound like a therapist lol). Are you scared that you'll regret it,or is it the actually act of having the shave it & then draw it in everyday?
Sabrina, you should go for it! I can definitely see you rocking it. I cut of 23 cms of my hair last year and here's how I see it: It's just hair. If you hate it, you can find a way to make it work until it grows back, or worst case scenario, get extensions. If you don't, at the back of your mind you will always keep wondering, "Should I do it or not? Maybe someday..."
Anna, you should try something semi-permanent and see how you like it. You can always bleach your eyebrows if you need to. The upkeep may be hard but it's worth it if it will make you happy!
Noelle, haha don't worry you are not alone in that...I really want to go for the Brazilian wax but I am terrified! Plus I have personal space issues so that just feels like a violation lol. And don't worry about being judged (easier said than done, I know) because people are going to find something to criticize no matter what you do. You will never be able to please everyone, so you might as well just stop trying and make your happiness the number one priority :)

Breeze, I'm the same with glitter, I've just never been a fan. Good on you for being so brave! I've had some crazy colours in my hair before and although it was fun seeing the reactions I got, looking back it was not a very flattering look x) I never feel quite like myself in bright lipstick, but I think the funny think is that other people might look at me and for all they know it's my signature look.
Hollie, I challenge you: Cut off your hair, do the red lip and winged liner, go out in public and OWN it! Go on, I dare you ;) I promise to take my own challenge as well.
I'm glad I'm not the only one with a fear of bold lips! I think it's just because of my lip shape that I feel like it doesn't really compliment me. For now I'll stick to my corals and burgundy!

Hannah, amen to that! And I like to think of myself as pretty fearless too (well, I'm getting there!) but I definitely have my inhibitions. Now I have a question for you...do you not like the look of winged liner, or do you think it's overdone and has lost its appeal, or are you just scared of looking like everyone else? I used to avoid trends like wildfires, but sometimes they're not all that bad. I've decided that NOT doing something just because everyone else is doing it is just as bad as doing something just because everyone else is doing it. Sometimes I feel a bit undignified by following a trend, if that makes any sense, but I don't want the popularity of something to be a factor in my decision making.
And to everyone, here are some words of wisdom so that hopefully we all have the courage to step outside our comfort zones, even if it's just for makeup: "Your regrets aren't what you did, but what you didn't do. So I take every opportunity."

I'm also pretty daring and fearless, if I wanted to I could go out with some crazy makeup looks however I'm not that great at it lol...
Hmm.. I'd probably say cutting my hair anywhere above my shoulders. I get sad anytime I cut my hair, that just seems a bit too crazy for me hahah! I feel like I wouldn't look very feminine.

Shaving my hair for an undercut, Smokey eyes, contour... that's it.

I don't wear bright eyeshadow I just think I look crazy lol.

Definitely contouring. I can't do it right (yet) so maybe after I learn it you can see me wearing it wherever I go! But for now, its stuck on the shelf.

To answer your question, Lizzy, I find it overdone. I think that it's no longer unique, so it's not so much the popularity of it that bothers me as the fact that no one really does variations or tries different things, that I can see. We all know I love being unique, so I would certainly struggle with how to do something new and interesting with winged eyeliner. I'm not sure if that makes a whole lot of sense, but that's how I feel.

Ah, finally someone who gets my hatred for glitter! lol don't get me wrong, I love a metallic shadow, just not glitter, like the kind where you can see the single 'grains'..lol!
Anyway, just wanted to say: GREAT THREAD!!

I'm afraid to ombré my hair because of the damaging effects!

Probably go blonde or dye my hair an unnatural colour (the latter of which I probably can't do now)
Make up wise probably the dramatic lip and dramatic eye at the same time.
