Start with any color of your choice as the base and add blackor any darker shade to the outer ends of your eye lids.Then add any other eye make up such as eyeliner,mascara, etc.

Hi niah, you posted this thread twice and this might make it hard to answer or comment since people will post in both, it also pushes other threads down and makes it harder to see them, would you mind deleating one of them?

As to your eye makeup, this is not a smokey eye this is a gradient eye, when you want to do a smokey eye you want the darkest color on your lash line and then fading as it goes up

Well said, Lili. While I do like the look, Niah, Lili is right. Shadow can be smokey, but a technical smokey eye is a gradient effect from darkest at the lashline to lightest under the brow bone. Like this:
