First of all its a long post but please go through it and answer :)
There is a new Canadian brand in my city named FACES. It has nice nail paints. I am very particular about using non animal tested products, so I wrote a mail to these people asking whether they test test their products on animals ( both final products and ingredients). To which they gave me the reply mentioned below. Now their reply is beyond my understanding. Can you people help me understand it??

They said they do not test their products on animals..

@Diana.. Lol.. I got it that they say they do not test on animals bit they have added the words "as a business".. Now there are various stages on which animal testing is done. Also different companies have different animal testing policies. Like UD doesn't tests it at all ( at any stage). Like wise I wanted to know that does FACES follows any such policies.

People as a whole have far much worse things to worry about in my opinion.

Yaya its just a personal preference. In your opinion it may not be as important but in my opinion it is.

Their business does not test on animals. That's it

You can go on the leaping bunny website to see if their parent company tests on animals or what stages (if any) do animal testing - or you can just email them back and ask for specifics

Parnika, I believe you are right, the way they worded it sounds as though they may test on them. Dang, why's everyone have to be so mean? Some people care about issues, there's nothing wrong with that. Maybe don't buy from that company as that was kind of a shady response.

I know I do apologize parnika if I came off harsh earlier I just did understand what about the company response you were confused about but after you clarified I get it - and it's also important to me to buy products not tested on animals as well so I know what you mean - I find the leaping bunny and PETA websites to be most helpful when looking for companies that are cruelty free :)

I don't think I was being rude... but now I see where you're coming from.

That wasn't directed at either Renay or Diana...and companies are evil. Just because they say "we do not test on animals as a business" by no means actually means they don't test on animals lol.

Oh hell yeah.. False advertisement is everywhere. It's kind I sad really

I agree totally and also that there wording is suspicious so I would look into it further myself :)

Nhung...I agree with ya. Companies have gotten in trouble of deceptive advertising...claiming they are one thing when in fact they are another. Especially when it comes to animal testing and the whole organic beauty industry.

Faces is franchise Parnika so if you want to get some clarity I would definitely reach out to the company directly who owns the rights to the name.

Sounds like any ingredients they outsource, may be animal tested, e.g. colors, binders, ect. Many makeup companies do not manufacure all the material that go into product. Youre right, that wording is very misleading... and exactly what I mean by lies in the beauty industry... specialy "animal friendly", organic, and vegan...

Dear Lauren, thank you for your lovely and much needed comment (the first one) and we have wonderful moderators :) and I agree Parnika, they gave a twisted answer so if you don't find anything helpful in the site Diana suggested, I guess not using them will be the safest!

I agree with Amy! Normally when companies do not test any of their products OR ingredients on animals, they will specifically say so. Normally when you reach out to companies they will send you their full policy on animal testing unless they have something to hide. The email you got is very vague and sounds a little sketchy.
You can contact them again and question about third party animal testing, or as the other ladies have suggested, not buy any of them just to be safe.
