So I'm planning to buy some new brushes, and I have been thinking of getting either Real Techniques or Sigma.
I know both brands have their fans and their haters but I'd still like to know which brush I should get? I've been hearing lots of good thing about the Sigma F80 Kabuki Brush but people have been telling me to get Real Techniques instead.
So which one do you think I should get? Thanks!

I personally like sigma more. I love the quality of both. They are both amazing, but I have had them both for a while and my sigma is holding up better. The real techniques is kind of shedding and falling apart :\
For quality I like both, but for long lasting I like sigma (:

So I have some Real Techniques brushes, and I hate them. I find them dry, and I don't think they pick up product well. I've never tried Sigma, but I'd pick most anything over Real Techniques.

I too don't get the hype over RT brushes. First of all, they are cheaply made. I can tap mine againt my sink while washing them and they get dents. 2. They are too dense or stiff for their purpose. They suck up wayyyy too much pigment. Lastly, they are weighted horribly. Very bottom heavy. It just doesn't feel good holding them and any intricate work you wanna do you can basically kiss goodbye.
I don't much love Sigma either, but they are better than RT.

The prices mostly likely. I however never tried sigma either that's just my assumption. And no real techniques, mine broke so easily. I would clean the specially just to avoid the breakage. But I just feel there are some good qualities but breakage over rules all.

SIGMA. I use the F80 brush for liquid foundation application and it never leaves me cakey :) great for buffing out harsh lines from contouring, too.

The only real techniques brush I recommend is the powder brush. I had the core collection and the foundation brush just fell apart after a couple washes.

That's strange how so many of you don't like RT. I personally
love them but I have never tried sigma so maybe they are better :)

I love the RT brushes. I actually reach for them more than my sigma kabuki brushes!! They are super soft and affordable!

I kinda like some of my sigmas... granted, they are over priced. And some of them are totally reaching, as far as function... but, the quality is decent... they don't shed, they are soft...
But by no means lux line... they have some great essentials, pointed blended and blusher, eye blender, larger powder. Pointed eye large and small.
Sigma wash well too. But again, way over priced...
If you want a great first set, that holds up, has great application, and affordabke... look into bdellium. They are fantastic brushes. The pink line... synthetic... will give you years if use.
