A few months ago I was chosen to be on a testing panel for this foundation and recently the finished product has finally hit retail. Vast improvements were made making the final product a hit in my book.
Its a bi/phase formula that is quite similar to Giorgio Armani Maestro and Chanel Velvet foundations. Very watery is the best way to describe it. It dries down to a matte finish that does not leave the face looking flat or feeling like you're wearing a mask. It leaves a powdery finish so you have the option of not having to apply additional powder to set it so to speak. I have oily/combo skin and so far its doing a great job at keeping my oil in check and its hot and crazy humid in Florida. It lightly diffuses my enlarged pores and evens out my pesky areas on my face...especially my chin which always looks darker than the rest of my face after application of foundation. There is no fragrance to speak of and its nice to know that its water-based.
I've worn this without primer so I could get an accurate read of it by itself but I do plan on seeing how this plays out with the primers in my collection.
As of lately I've been on a major foundation kick. I love my Bobbi Brown and Giorgio Armani Maestro but its always fun to try something different. I definitely now have a great matte foundation to include in rotation.
It retails for $48 and is now at Sephora.

@Sabrina...I would have to say the coverage is of light/medium. Its kinda hard for me to determine as I don't have any acne scarring to use as a benchmark though I didn't use undereye concealer and I noticed it diffused darkness in that area.
@Naomi...yes GA is and Loreal Magic Nude are basically one in the same. Maybelline also came out with a new line of foundation that is similar to those as well. Though I don't like the color selection (very small). Stops with ONE dark shade.

loreal one didn't work well for me so far.. I'm going to give it a couple more chances. lol.

@Naomi...I'm thinking of buying the one from Maybelline just to test and post results here on BL but I think the shade available for my skintone might be a tinge too dark.

Oh ok!
yeah I just looked at the shades again just now. I rem thinkn they were missing some. most definitely coconut will b too dark. I may b able to get sway with honey beige in the winter.
I have honey beige on the fitME foundation n its perfect yr round (by some miracle) but in some of the other maybelline foundations honey beige is lighter and I can wear it thry winter..
I'm curious to see how this foundation works for you..I'm on a no buy but plan to grab it at some point on e its over. :)
I love maybelline.. ;-)

Neck and face are the same color...just shadows playing tricks on the eye...its my chest that is actually lighter than both my neck and face. I haven't been able to use my self-tanner as I've been going thru radiation treatment (recently ended).
@Naomi...yes...coconut is the one I've been seeing everywhere too. I wish they would up their color range.

@Sandy...thank you! I'm doing great. That is so cool that you're an oncology nurse. I loved mine!!
@Naomi...girl I'm all done with that insanity. Once my lower half stops resembling lizard skin I'm going to get a tat close to where I had tissue removed...kinda symbolize that event in my life. I've gotten over the fact I'm missing a chunk of flesh there. At least it wasn't a limb.
Jul 16, 2014
Naomi S.
Girl yes!. that's definitely the way to look at it.. thank God it wasn't a limb.
I had a dream about you.. I'm so glad you're doing better. :)
the dream said you were going be fine. ;-)

Awwwww.. girl the dream was crazy and I'd been meaning to post on your wall forever. I bought a house n you came to my housewarming.. and I was so happy to see you esp since you were live across the country and were traveling n could come. n you were being your super positive self when I asked you how your treatments were going but you looked so scared under all smiles. n something told me to tell you.. girl please, this ain't the end don't even worry about it AT ALL.. n you were like, ok thanks n looked like your fear was somewhat relieved.
girl, God said he got too much left for you to do. n this is a short moment in time to add to your testimony. ;-)
all the love Shelley. keep being you n all will b well.
