What has BL taught you?!?!

Hey beauties so I just felt the urge to make this thread. Two questions!:)

What is one thing you have learned while a member of this awesome family?

How has this community helped you grow in your search for knowledge about beauty, and in life in general?

Here are my answers:

Back before I found BL, I was still under the thought of a gradient eye being a smokey eye, because that is what all the YouTube gurus were telling me lol. The first week I was on BL I learned different, and I knew I could trust it, because it came from real trained MUAS...

I have learned things about cosmetic application here on BL that I wouldn't have even thought to study on my own. I learned that books can be more reliable, and that there are so many rules/guidelines and techniques out there. My vocabulary has also grown. Lol but for real yay!! But I have also learned life lessons... For example, humility, and learning that not everyone in life will agree with you or even like you, but you just have to go on and not dwell on the past.

Anyway I'm so thankful for Bl and all you beauties!

I know what you mean, I have a whole separate family here at BL. Haha Symone and I are real good friends, were makeup sisters lol. and so forth. And Jackie is like my makeup mommy, I have learned so much from her and Alma and others...

I've learned that a place with all females with stir up some cattiness... Lol no just kidding kind of ;b

I think this place is rad. I mean, I've never thought there could be a place with so many down to earth females. I've made some awesome friends on here. I've also learned to handle negative opinions better. Lol. I've not learned much about makeup application since I don't wen practice, but I have leaned about techniques and that there is names for all kinds of eye looks. Lol.

I have learned that there are so many super talented, beautiful and kind women in this wonderful site. I am so uplifted by the sharing, friendship, encouragement and acceptance that I see. It's wonderful to see girls learning more and more, it's exciting that you could spend your entire life learning about beauty, yet never learn it all. There are Gals here of all levels sharing knowledge with each other and encouragement for them to move forward. Make up has been a lifesaver for me, The creative outlet that I needed so much when I became sick. Being able to make others feel beautiful is such a blessing for me and something I am so grateful to have the opportunity to do. I absolutely love hearing all the knowledge that you girls have, keep sharing this wonderful world, you never know how much it could mean.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎨

I was going to say basically the same thing as renay about BL. it's rad and super rare to have so many nice people all at one place.

One thing I've learned though is that I can wear bold things everyday any time I want. Like a bright blue lipstick out and nobody is going to care. If they do, they'll just ask what color it is.
Or a smokey eye and red lips to go buy milk at 7/11. Because makeup is makeup and nobody is going to really care

Well it's strange but
My brow progress over the year or more I've been here has been a big change lol! I get pretty shaky when I do my brows cause I'm trying to concentrate but now I can do them without them looking like a heavy mess so I'm grateful for that hahah. Also made some pretty awesome friends so there's that too. 💕

None of my friends or family ever wore makeup so when I discovered beauty videos on YouTube, I was clueless and believed everything I saw. The top two lies were probably that bronzer is for contouring, that a gradient eye is a smokey eye. Being on here I've learnt how to properly do my brows, how to choose the right concealer, the importance of using the right tools, and so many other invaluable lessons.
Most significantly, Beautylish helped me gain courage. To be myself and wear what I want, to try new and crazy looks just because I can, and to have fun with makeup and not take it too seriously. I started my blog thanks to BL, and now thanks to the support I've gotten on here I started making videos of my own (something I was so terrified of!) I think it's amazing that it's such a tight-knit community. There is some drama every now and then, but considering how many females are on here, I'm surprised that there's not more. I'm thankful to have found BL and I'm constantly inspired by all the kind and amazing and talented people on here :)
