I've really been wanting to get acrylic nails, and have some super fun designs and 3D nails, but i'm really hesitant because I don't want it to screw me over makeup-wise. If you have acrylics, please tell me if it's really hard to do your makeup with them, or if it takes a long time to get used to them?

It takes a little time to get used to them , but they dont get in the way of ne doing my makeup . Ive never gotten them super long but I've had them long enough . If they do get in the way of apply makeup , say sticking your finger in a MAC paint pot or something like that i just use a brush instead of my finger . :)

I've never had a problem and my nails are quite long. Just use brushes.

I've never had a problem & I have the long stiletto nails. Only problem I have is sticking my finger into a small jar, like the NYX white base. I just use a brush instead.

the only issue i can even imagine would be using your finger for something and your nail gets in the way.. so then you just use a brush.

I have had acrylics for ever and I don't have any trouble when applying my makeup. My concealer comes in a tiny round jar and I use a little spatula to get out the amount I need. That ensures I won't get makeup behind my nails, which can be very gross. I say go for it, but don't get them to long and you won't have any issues.

Here is a picture of my nails right now so you get the idea of what I'm working with when doing my makeup. I just got them done for Christmas.  =)

For me, when I had long ones, it was a little annoying at times, though not impossible. I do think it takes some getting used to, especially the longer you get them so you may want to start shorter at first.

you just have to be careful not to stab your eyeshadows with your finger nails. When you go to pick up a product with your finger be sure your nail tip is outside the edge of the pan/pot that your eyeshadow is in. use the ball of your finger to pick up the product. Also always use your ring finger for apply eyeshadow, it is your weakest finger so it does not apply too much pressure while blending. Once you get used to wearing artificial nails they can be used as tools to help you put on fake eyelashes better or get some makeup out of your tear duct.
