I agree with jacqlyn but it will take some time. Just remember not to pop the pimple because the spots will be red and that will be much worst!

It definitely takes time but the time it takes depends on your skin and genetics behind how it heals the scars - there are photos on my profile of my personal struggle with acne scars you can check out that include the products I've used - I saw results as early as 2 weeks but they really are starting to fade to where they are barely noticeable after 2 months of vitamin c serum paired with a BHA exfoliant.

Maybelline had a dark spot corrector, it's a cover up so you cover the spot while it works to remove it :)

Different fitzpatrick types, will pigments differently. It depends on your heritage.
For example.
Fitz 1... red heads, palest skin, do not tan, always burn, lack... pigment red - always irish descent
Asian skin pigments worse then all skin types, due to light color, and high level of melaocytes, can be fitz 2-3
The more melanocytes, the more difficult the approach. Since treating too harshly, or too fast, will make it worse.
So, hair color? Skin color? Nationality? Do you tan easily? Do you get sunburn first? What color do your veins look? Blue, green?

Why wouldn't you use lemon? Just curious.
Jun 24, 2014

@Desiree...lemon is very acidic which results in skin damage.

Gentle exfoliating and using Vitamin c serum and spf daily will help also the best thing to do is prevent your pimple from leaving behind a dark spot in the first place so try your best not to pop it and don't over use your spot treatment twice a day is plenty spot treatments are concentrated and will cause the area to dry.out and darken always moisturize so the area doesn't become to dry while spot treating and when your pimple pops apply a tiny bit of neosporin right away for about two days it will heal it much faster and without leaving that much of a scar behind.

You could be fitz 3 maybe 4... at a 3 you have more treatment options. But, skin eval is a must.
To be safe... start now using a tyrosnise inhibitor. You should be on one for at least a month, steady use. What is it? Tyrosnise trigger melanin productiom. By using a topical inhibitor, you can pervent furture damage. BUT you must use them with daily spf, and a vit c is recommended as well. Vit c is actually an inhibitor, and a lightner... but not a strong one it would take a while for results. Bearberry, kojic acid, licorice, are all inhibitors. There are more too.
Those ill fade dark spots too... treatments along with skincare with rid them faster. Bitter alomond, or mandelic peels are perfect for pigmentation. So is dermaplanning, micros... you have many options.
Start with good, steady homecare. Spf, limit refined sugars (cause infammation), drink h2o, good sleep patterns... all this helps body function, and repair at peek levels.
