Heat Protectant

I'm getting a new straightener for Christmas and since I know I'm going to be using it a lot, I want to get a good heat protectant so that I damage my hair as little as possible. I was thinking of getting the Garnier Fructis Flat Iron Perfection Thermal Heat Protectant... Has anyone tried it?

This heat protectant made my hair feel sticky and dry. I switched to tresseme heat tamer spray and haven't looked back.

Tresemme is good and Chi also has a great one I use the chi flat iron protectant
