Have any if you taken birth control for your acne? If so, how long, and did it work? What were your side effects? Every body is different, but I'm curious as to what you all think? Thanks<3.

I take birth control for it's intended purpose, but I've noticed that my acne (I never had it bad to begin with, I'd just break out a lot before my period) has gone away a lot. The only major side effect is that I've gained a lot of weight. Small price to pay I guess, I'd rather gain some pounds than be pregnant.

I take birth control (pill) and I was suffering from severe acne and It definitely made a huge difference for me. I noticed that after about a month of using it my face cleared up. I personally didn't get any side effects. I still get a pimple here and there but don't break out like all kinds anymore I love it.(:

It definitely worked for me. My issue with taking the pill for acne was that it wasn't getting to the root of the problem and I was not willing to accept "it's just your hormones that are giving you acne" after going off of birth control for almost a year I have a skin regimen that has really helped me clear up my skin. It's not perfect but it's much better and I notice that when I eat better and drink water it improves so much. I only use CeraVe cleanser and moisturizer and benzoyl peroxide for a spot treatment when I get new blemishes.
